I think I was 13 when I had mine. We ran out of sodas at a construction project with dad so I grabbed one. There was no water avaible.!!

He's old enough to do what he wants with his life. I'm not a fan of his but I don't understand what's so bad about him having a drink once in a while.

i think its about moderation.....problem is, the people who have had real problems with alcohol or substance abuse are quick to do "finger pointing".

I have never had a drink of alcohol and never will. Some people just don't like the stuff.

Well, I realize there are some people out there that don't drink. I wasn't literally saying EVERYONE drinks and/or drinks before they are 21. I was just making the point that it is not that big of deal and a large amount of people have had alcohol before they are 21.

Miss Drew never drank. She dated the same boy for 50 years and I do not think they ever held hands. That would have gotten me to drink a little.

He's 18! I'm not condoning teenaged drinking, but it's the norm.

Actually, in Europe where the drinking-age is younger, he has. He's too young to be legally served in America, anyone under the age of 21. (National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984).

I did not remember when the law changed. It was still 18, when I turned 18. I hardly ever drink, but I was looking forward to having my first legal drink anyway. it turned out to be the first time I was ever carded and I, of course, had no, I.D.! Argh!

The drinking-age when I was young was twenty-one. Then they changed it to 18 the day OF my 21st birthday! Me and my two years younger brother both turned "legal" on the same day! (And then a few years later they changed it back to 21 again.)

Now, that sounds like maybe, there had a conspiracy against you. lol

Hmmm.... Never thought of that! I was attending college at U of M back then and already starting to question my supposed political liberalism and beginning to see that in reality I was more likely an ultra-conservative. (Beginning to perceive that the wrongs that needed to be righted and the things I'd wanted government to fix were usually originated, compounded or aggravated by government "fixes" in the first place.)

A group like... ummm... say the Trilateral Commission or the Council on Foreign Relations, foreseeing my probable future, inserted its tentacles into the proper entities of the government in the state of Michigan to "get me."
