Johnny Depp and Girlfriend, Vanessa Paradis, Split After 14 Years Together: Surprising or So Hollywood?

How is it so Hollywood to split after that long? If it was 14 days or weeks, then yes, it would be so typical. But 14 years is a long time. Longer than some actual marriages.

Surprising and Saddening. They seemed to have it together. I am not sure in todays world that marriage is the right way to go. Maybe some kind of legal agreement would be better..in other words recognizing that people often grow in different directions.

I only chose that answer because the other option is dumb. Their relationship is 14 years old. Sometimes a relationship ends. To last 14 years is very impressive.

Obviously it is not a surprise, they have not been seen to together for a long time.

But it doesn't change the fact Johnny Depp is known as being a genuinely good person, which is rare in a town where everyone is fraud.

I am kind of surprised but not for the reasons you might think. I still totally respect Johnny for his up front nature that things were just not working out between him and his girlfriend and that they would still try to work things out because of his children he had with her. Since they did amicably separate there is always hope than things could get back on track but the chances of this are very doubtful. I highly doubt this will be the case but if that did happen I bet the kids would be ecstatic. And Johnny, if you see this, I totally am on your side. You are a brilliant and talented man and should be respected for your quality. Don't let this speed bump slow you down. Your fans are awaiting what ever project(s) you may take on next.

Also to add to that, it is better this way because they don't need people sticking their noses where they don't belong. I love Johnny to death but let him be on this issue. Temptation gets all of us at some time. I too have not gotten married and been in a long lasting relationship with one man for many years. Granted it was on and off (most of the time off) but we always did work things out.
