  You left off one other fine title of his: "In Harm's Way,l" produced and directed by Otto Preminger.
  
  And: "Cast a Giant Shadow," in which he portrayed a composite of American generals who had run-ins with Mickey Marcus before Marcus would distinguish himself as commander of the Jerusalem theater during the Israeli War for Independence.

  My favorite and the only movie I think he ever won an Academy Award for. I guess the Academy of Arts and Sciences didn't like John Wayne all that much.

  One of his best was "Legend of the Lost" with Gina Lolibrigida. They were stranded at a water hole in the desert.
  When he poured whisky out of his flask to have it available to fill with water Wayne said to Gina" Now you know how serious the situation is." The Duke was alleged to be quite a drinker.
