They didn't end up together, but maybe that's why Rick and Ilsa mean so much to so many filmgoers.

  3. Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor in “Cleopatra”

These two were an iconic couple both on- and off-screen — and even a terrible Lindsay Lohan movie can't change that!

  4. Richard Gere and Julia Roberts in “Pretty Woman”

He was a sensitive millionaire. She was the hooker with a heart of gold. It was a match made in movie heaven!

Nora Ephron's greatest moment is the greatest rom-com of the '80s, making Harry and Sally a couple for the ages.

It's hard to think about Jack and Rose without shedding a tear...or fifty.

Add Photos & Videos
Yesterday one of the most iconic on-screen couples, John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, dropped in on "Ellen" to talk about their new Christmas album. "This Christmas" will feature stellar guest appearances by Barbra Streisand, James Taylor, Tony Bennett and Kenny G.

Travolta and Newton-John starred together as iconic screen couple Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsen in "Grease" — but who's your favorite on-screen couple? Is yours from one of the classics, like Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman as the doomed Rick and Ilsa in "Casablanca"? Or real-life couple — and the subjects of the Lindsay Lohan-starring Lifetime movie "Liz & Dick" — Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor in “Cleopatra"?

And let's not forget the smoldering tension between Clark Gable's Rhett Butler and the unforgettable Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara in "Gone With the Wind."

Then, from the rom-com revival of the '80s, how about Harry and Sally in...well, "When Harry Met Sally..."? Or the steamy romance between Baby and Johnny in "Dirty Dancing"? Then, from the '90s, there's tragic Jack and Rose in "Titanic," and "Pretty Woman's" odd couple — millionaire Richard Gere and Julia Roberts' call girl.

As far as John Travolta, I liked when he did those kid movies with Kirstie Alley, "look who's talking". I liked the first one and then the sequels too.

This question DEFINITELY needs an "Other" option, because my top pick would be Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn followed very closely by Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Out of the newer picks, this couple should be a runaway pick. the notebook

Those were some really tough choices to make. Because I like comedies I chose Billy and Meg, but they may not be the "best" just my favorite. I liked these two also

My second vote would go to Titanic. All of these couples were great in those roles, most I've seen and admired. But in being able to pick just one I gotta go with Bogart and Bergman. What a classic. And I think Titanic, with DiCaprio and Winslet, is destined to become a classic too. Both for their acting as well as the epic tale Titanic presented. Of course Titanic holds a special place in my heart because me and my daughter, who was 17 then, saw it together in my home town on a visit to see her Grandmother, my mom. One of the last times we got to see her.

Of the choices given I have to say this one, but there is a better couple I'm sorprise it wasn't listed, Bruce Willis & Cybill Shepherd in " Moonligthing".

Oh, there are so many great film couples that made lots of movies together that aren't on this list. Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn, Bogart and Lauren Bacall, Gable with Jean Harlow or Myrna Loy - but the best for me is William Powell and Myrna Loy.

I must be the only person in the world in this category, but just for the record, I HATED GREASE with a passion!!!! I was thirteen or fourteen when I saw it and marveled at the ages of the so-called pupils at Rydell High since no one I knew at my school looked that old. In many ways, it killed the mystic for me - but that's my story, what's yours?

I can honestly say that I've never had any inclination at all to watch that movie for the very reason you've brilliantly illuminated!I feel that way about "Dirty Dancing" too! The only way someone will EVER get me to watch either one of those movies will be to use this technique on me! clockwork orange
