I have nothing to add. I was three years old when the Mets played their first game, and I have waited over 50 years for this day. I congratulate Johan Santana, the team behind him, and all of those who, like me, have been true to the orange and blue and who knew that this day would come.

Agreed. I assume you've read the morning papers. All of them are talking about how tough it was for Collins to leave him in. Of course, every player said the same thing - there's no way they would let Collins take them out if they were in that situation.

The crucial thing is going to be his next start. If he has no "after effects" then everyone will breathe a sigh of relief. They said they might delay his next start for a day or two (which, coincidentally, would mean his next start will be against the Yankees) just to make sure he doesn't injure himself.

Still, this was one for the ages.

Wonderful Proud Progressive. I can tell how much this means to you. I too share in the success of Santana. This is an accomplishment not many have under their belt. Dang...I hope he never pitches against the Indians. :)

Seeing the celebratory mood you are in I can't begin to imagine what Santana must feel.

It's a bit chilly here CAROLYN but sunny. We're off the the "Old West End Festival." It's held yearly in a rejuvinated section of Toledo with enormous homes that used to be owned by the cities most prominent families. It became rather rundown for many years but has been taken over by young artsy type people. They have craft type booths, garage sales and they open their homes for tours. I look forward to it every year and always find an old piece of furniture I can refinish and make lovely again. They also have cotton candy which is one of my favorites. :)
A beautiful day for wandering around the area. My husband, my dear mother and I go with my husband being the driver. He carries our wonderful "finds" back to the car. Dang how I love men. Haha....
