Okay, Fallon's 'persona' and really a kind of exaggerated 'character' has always been 'guy too freaked out to be on SNL'. A whole lot of his appeal was that he was the guy too freaked out to get this right. When overdone (or done too long) it was also where he lost appeal and a complaint was sometimes made he was too old, too experienced to be 'nervous kid with bed head hair.
So really, for him to 'nail it' would appearing as far-from-freaking-out, very experienced talk show host and SNL veteran who can be a little nervous but has this totally handled.
Surprisingly, celebrities have feelings too. :O They get nervous just as we do... Maybe Saturday Night Live is a big deal for him... Don't jump to conclusions.
Come on. He is a famous professional comedian; do you honestly believe that he still has stage fright after years of doing successful stand up comedy routines?
Jimmy seems like the nervous type; When his late night show debuted he was sweating bullets and looked like he was going to pass out at any moment. Now that he's had his show for a few years he seems fine, but that first month was a mess!
His it's stage persona. It works in his favor, but he acts intentionally nervous to win over the crowd. Don't get me wrong I like him, but it doesn't fool me any.
I know he stutters a lot and is VERY awkward and that's his shtick; but I don't think he could fake that sweat and fear he had when his show first started.
It's probably a mixture of his skill and natural inclinations, but my point is that he isn't really very nervous about this. He's done so much other public performances, that this won't be a big deal to him.
Agreed! I thought I was the only one. I told one of my friends I thought he was adorable and she looked at me like I was crazy. Hey, girls like funny men. xD

Oh and he's super cute :)
