Jim Carrey Ditches 'Dumb and Dumber' Sequel: Wise or... Dumb?

The public didn't seem too thrilled about a "Dumb and Dumber" sequel when we asked about it in April. Now it sounds like the project will never see the light of day. According to ETOnline, star Jim Carrey is backing out of "Dumber and Dumber To" because the studios behind it -- New Line and Warner Brothers -- aren't showing it enough love. He reportedly said, "I would have thought 'Dumb and Dumber To' was a no-brainer, after all it's implied in the title."
You might recall the unoffical sequel, "Dumb and Dumberer," but this was going to be a true sequel -- made by the same creators (the Farrelly brothers), starring the same actors (Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels). It was big news when Carrey signed on for the film, because the actor is notorious for refusing to do sequels. "Ace Ventura" is the only film he's followed up on, though rumor has it a proper "Bruce Almighty" sequel is in the works. Do you think Jim Carrey was wise to back out of "Dumb and Dumber To"? Or was it a dumb move?

Oh well.....
Jim Carrey has done the same routine for so long, it truly sucks. I've worked with him many years ago and his only skill is being the idiot and he's not even great at that, because that's where he limits himself to.
It's time he hangs up his career and joins the rest of the clowns and fools in politics.
Funny thing, just yesterday I was thinking about how unlike many of his colleagues of comedy, Jim Carrey has managed to not make a mockery of himself and his career (cough, Adam Sandler, Eddie Murphy, etc). It was a good move on his part.
