In yet another case of a celebrity taking herself way too seriously, Jessica Simpson is now comparing her work on a reality show to missionary work.
On Tuesday night, Simpson accepted an award from the Gracies, an organization that honors women in radio and TV. The group gave Simpson an award for her “strength and entrepreneurial endeavors in the face of adversity and public scrutiny.” While accepting the award, Simpson discussed “The Price of Beauty,” the VH1 reality show that explores various definitions of beauty in cultures around the world. “It’s similar to missionary work,” said a teary-eyed Simpson. “It was what I was called to do and called to be.”
Simpson continued on to say “it’s changing my life, and that’s what it’s all about. We’re all women, we are strong and there is always a life to change, and you are powerful enough to do it!”
For the series, Simpson traveled around the globe, presumably first-class, with her BFF and her gay hairdresser. As part of her grueling missionary duties, she sat at a diner and chatted with an anorexic model, visited a fattening hut in Uganda and walked the couture runway in Paris.
What’s she going to tackle next? Malaria?
Is Simpson taking herself too seriously? Or is she really changing lives?

Again, if Simpson is doing this with a gracious heart good for her...if not, she may was well give up the act, because its only going to hurt people in the end.
