Unless you're my oldest sister, she dropped all her weight within a month. It was crazy, she was a size 3 again.

It's difficult for many women because 1. Some women gain more weight than is necessary to support their unborn children.. 2. After birth, it takes some time for the mother to gain her strength and energy back, even without complications. Hormones and the stress of a new baby can also make it hard to schedule in physical activity. 3. It takes time for the uterus to shrink back down, for afterbirth fluids to be excreted, and for the pelvic and abdominal areas to regain their shape.
Tip: You can burn up to 20% more calories by pushing a stroller while you walk. It's a great way to spend time with your baby while getting yourself back into shape.

It's easier not to use pregnancy as an excuse to be lazy & to overeat in the first place. I gained less than 25 lbs. My shape sprang right back in a few weeks.

I imagine it's very difficult. Most women I know never look the same after having a baby.

Never had children, but I'll take people's word for it.

Jessica Simpson was said to have gained over 65 pounds...O.O Is that average when pregnant with a 9 lb baby, or did JS just give in to her "curves"?

I would think it must be difficult, unless of course you are paid a fortune by Jenny Craig, Nutri-System or Weight Watchers and have a personal trainer, nanny and state of the art gym.

Honestly, I think it depends on the person. Different people lose different amounts of weight. Some find baby weight difficult to lose- others, not so much.

As a general rule, yes, it can be very difficult. But, when you are wealthy, you get trainers and dieticians who make it happen very quickly and easily.

I don't know if there is anything that works perfectly for everyone. Some people naturally lose the weight. A general rule is that breastfeeding is a natural way to do it, too. A good trick is to try and be in the best shape BEFORE pregnancy...and even during. I'm not talking body-building. But, making sure that you are active and do things, like walking and even low impact forms of aerobics. Combine that with a good, healthy diet throughout, at it makes "everything" much easier. Just a thought.

depends how much they weighed before, how much they gained, how many kids they had before, if there were any complications and/or surgeries during that they need to recover from first, if they nurse or not, if they have enough maternity leave to get an exercise routine started before they have to return to work, and many, many, many other factors, but bottom line is this; for some people it will fall right off, others not, and you can never really know which way it's gonna be until you're there. Heck first baby weight never really left until after the second baby for me. I actually weigh less now then I did before my first pregnancy. o.0

i bet she got a lot of money to have a liposuction or any operation to reduce her baby weights! xD

Liposuction just gets rid of problem areas but then shifts any weight to other areas that weren't problems prior.

I've never had children, but I imagine that losing pregnancy weight is difficult for the average woman.

After a certain period of time, the average woman is expected to return to work, take care of her household, and now, also, care for a new child. I imagine high-stress, with little time left over for consistent exercise.

For a woman like Jessica Simpson, though, her image is very much connected with her work. I'm sure she'll have nannies and housekeepers, plus dieticians and personal trainers all focused on helping her take care of juggling her family and her weight-loss.

It can be extremely easy for some people, and others never lose it.
Breast feeding, no sleep, running around constantly, and no time to eat are a great diet!

Easy for Jessica Simpson that is, not for the average woman. She has a lot of money and no day job. Her job is to hire trainers and dieticians to be in shape.
