Sigh....yes and no. For the HUGE amount of weight she gained yes....but for the average first mother who is breastfeeding...no. She gained way too much weight when pregnant...that is something she is dealing with, I wish her the best.

She didn't just have a child shes not victoria beckham where its like she wasn't pregnant the next day.....everyone should be smart enough to know that if you want to lose weight you have to exercise & ear healthy.....that doesn't mean going to the gym but walking 30 minutes a day go for a swim & so on it's not that hard....

She should have curtailed the "junk" food !! It will be hard to lose the "baby weight" now !! She might need to go on a 30 day "fast"......Just water, multi, fish oil, vitamin D, B Calcium ?? Walk for about 3 miles a day for a week, 5 miles a day for the rest of the month ??

She has lost 40lbs and that is work. Jessica is not a naturally small person. I am amazed too at how some of these celebrities get back down to nothing after babies.

Breastfeeding is a huge calorie burn.....so those celebrities that are back in shape quickly normally breastfeed and do a little toning. In order to not drop a lot of weight you have eat a ton of food (which isn't hard to do b/c you are constantly hungry...but still you start to notice the huge intake and try to correct it).

yes and no. she pigged out while pregnant which is not healthy. no woman should gain as much as she did. She's not even 5.2" tall. she should have been around 145 lbs max. But considering she lost a ton and is beautiful she'll always be beautiful.

after ballooning to over 200 lbs at 5'2"? you better believe she looks good. If she'd only gained 25 lbs or so, it might be different, but she got BIG. good for her!

She looks just fine, like a normal healthy woman who just had a child. Sure she gained weight while pregnant, but so what? She's a small person, it's harder to keep weight off and easier to gain weight when you're shorter and have a petite body. We make too huge of a deal of these meaningless things, and then question why tons of young girls think they should starve themselves because ruining their body/organs is less dramatic than being fat.

Not every woman is lucky enough to zap back into the preprego bod. She did gain way to much weight while pregnant,in time she will come back, she is a pretty girl regardless, she has always struggled with weight to some extent.

I think most of us would struggle to be thin if we had unhealthy eating habits and the money to support our habit. Hell, I bet some of us would be swimming around in a pool of butter with buckets of lobster at our side. It's all about how we train ourselves and self discipline. At least her face and hair are always beautiful.

She looks like Jessica Simpson trapped in Kirstie Alley's body. She looks great from the neck up but she gained way too much weight for her small frame while she was pregnant. That being said, the important thing is that both she and the baby are healthy. Hopefully now she will start making better decisions when it comes to what she puts in or does to her body.

She is only 5'2. Her frame, stature, whatever, is small(er). She needs to be careful what she eats and most importantly, stay active. No one is 'meant to be' overweight or born overweight unless of course they have a medical condition. Look at her in Dukes of Hazzard, she wasn't a teen then, she was a grown woman and her body was unbelievable! She can still look like that if she wants to, she just has to work for it like other women do. If she really cared all that much, she would but since she still wakes up a multi millionaire every day, she couldn't care less either way.

I totally disagree, your being naive. No they were not "born" over weight, however eating is a learned behavior!! that is why overweight babies become overweight adults! Some woman struggle with food in the same way alcoholics struggle with alcohol, and druggies struggle with drugs, addition comes in many forms. Food is very addicting to some people, usually (like other addictions) there is an underlying emotional issue, food (like drugs & alcohol) make them feel better, soothes them. I don't get it either but I have not walked in her shoes. Just say'n. :o/
  • Stef an... McCate 2012/09/11 20:32:39
    Stef and the City
You're right, eating is a learned behavior. What I'm saying is, if she wants to have her fantastic figure back, she can at any time. It would be easier for her in some ways and harder in others. Easier because she could have a personal trainer and chef to keep her and her diet in check. Harder because she has the money to support an unhealthy eating habit. For example, she can have say, steak and lobster every day if she wanted to but that doesn't mean she should. I don't feel sorry for her at all. There are people who are obese and desperately want to lose weight but don't know where to start because they have no one to help or motivate them. Now that's sad. But like I said before, unless there is an underlying medical condition, we are all capable of losing weight and making healthy choices when it comes to our bodies. No one has to be obese.

I assume you meant realistic in which case, who decides what is a realistic or unrealistic post birth body? Every woman is different.

funny, thats not what people say when these women that have babies work hard and get their body back almost right away---they get put down for that because it isnt "realistic"; celebs cant win, especially pretty girls---they're going to be put down either way---and its despicable the way that they're treated.

I know, people seem to think it's okay to mistreat or make up nasty rumors about women who are attractive because they are exactly that. They are pretty so they must have no feelings or problems, right? It's ridiculous, really. I also am tired of women, there are a lot of them on here, who imply that they are better mothers because they didn't 'rush to the gym and lose the weight'. Not every woman who returns to her pre-pregnancy body shortly after rushed to the gym, neglecting her infant, in an effort to quickly lose the weight. For many it happens that way naturally.

Exactly, some are, probably a lot more than you might think. That makes it realistic. That's as much a realistic post pregnancy body as one with excess fat or skin and stretch marks. Women made up that it was normal to gain a tremendous amount of weight while pregnant because they are eating for two (not exactly...) they want that to be considered the norm because it makes them feel better about themselves and they can use it as an excuse when their husband might question them about their weight. But when it's been over a year and they still haven't lost the weight, that's not 'okay' anymore. In most cases they are doing something wrong or not doing anything about it at all.
