Jessica Alba really seems like she has a lot to juggle these days, between a successful movie career, her own line of green products and a husband with two kids. So it’s hard to imagine she has time to recycle her cans and bottles let alone have a significant global impact. But the actress has done so much good that she’s about to be honored at the Environmental Media Awards.

The 31-year-old mom will receive the first-ever EMA Green Parent Award
on September 29. She can chalk the honor up to her advocacy for the Safe
Chemicals Act and her Honest Company affordable cleaning, personal care
and baby friendly items.

But Alba isn’t the first star to worry about their carbon footprint. Leonardo DiCaprio is famous for his self-titled organization that focuses on forest preservation, clean water and renewable energy projects. Ed Norton served as the U.N. Goodwill Ambassador for Biodiversity. And many will remember that Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation helped to complete 150 green homes in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Or course, it’s hard to live up to the standard set by former Vice President Al Gore, who brought the issue of global warming to the forefront with his film “An Inconvenient Truth.” But Daryl Hannah certainly deserves props for her dedication to the cause including three arrests -- one of which was involved a 23-day sit-in atop a tree. Who do you think is the greenest celeb of them all?

First they said we were going to go through an Ice age again except it got hot and then they said no wait the earth is heating up except then we got hit with harsh winters so they changed it again.
I just can't take them any more and I've heard enough climate change scientists who've basically that even if we stopped everything it's too late now anyways and the ball is too far along to stop.
It just doesn't help when the guy flies a private jet and leaves the lights on in his mansion.
I'm all for taking care of the planet but it just seems like Eco activists intimidate people through fear in order to control them.
All the new lightbulbs that are supposed to be green are actually toxic and filled with Mercury which people have been trying to stop in products because of it's high toxicity.
I just can't take them seriously anymore.
Speaking of those energy-saving lightbulbs [the curly-Q ones], I hate the damn things. They don't emit nearly enough light as the old ones. You also have to be careful which brands you use, because some of them can be dangerous. I was sitting in my living room a few m...
Speaking of those energy-saving lightbulbs [the curly-Q ones], I hate the damn things. They don't emit nearly enough light as the old ones. You also have to be careful which brands you use, because some of them can be dangerous. I was sitting in my living room a few months ago [luckily, I was home at the time], and one of my ecofriendly lightbulbs started flickering and then smoking. It would have caught fire and burned the place to the ground if I hadn't been there at the time.
Bottom line, global warming, flaming lightbulbs or whatever, we're all going to croak and the world's going to end one of these days. When that time comes, all we can do is bend over and kiss our sweet asses goodbye. [BTW, that old reverend fart who said the world was going to end awhile ago has recalculated his signs from The Almighty, and he now says we should eat, drink and be merry because The End is coming sometime in October. Plan accordingly.]
