The on-screen hero of "The Hunger Games" dealt with an actual emergency on Monday like a real-life hero. According to The Daily News, actress Jennifer Lawrence noticed a young girl who had collapsed in front of her Santa Monica apartment, and stayed with the girl until help got there. Several images were taken at the scene, showing Lawrence in a kneeling position by the girl's side.

Police would not reveal much about the incident, but explained, "[Lawrence] was walking her dog when she saw the juvenile. She stood by as a Good Samaritan until officers arrived and spoke with them. It was a couple of juveniles involved in the incident. It could have been alcohol related. She’s okay." Have you ever come to the aid of a stranger? If so, tell us your story!

I was doing X-rays on a lady when I worked in hospitals. And she was pretty beat up. She began to talk to me about it. The husband was abusive. She had tried to leave. But since he was a state patrol he always found her using his cop network. I had a friend who was a counselor and I called him. He got her to safety in another state.

I like to help beautiful female strangers and then invite them back to my place for a night cap. The car breaks down in front of the local motel and I only have enough money for a single room with a double bed. I am always happy to help stanger in need!

I am not going to take any credit for the help I gave strangers because I didn't help them for me, I help them for humanity as a whole. I have helped animals as well, and I just wish governments would do the same without any gain for itself. The world of humans would exist for a long time like it is suppose to.

During an outdoor concert, a girl OD'ed a few rows in front of me, nobody cared... I picked her up in my arm, she was vomitting on me but I carried her all the way to the first aid clinic. Left her there and never heard from her after but I still feel good about it even if it was 25 yrs ago.

Sort of the same way too. A neighbor was very intoxicated and stopped about 100 feet from his front door. I stopped just to say hello, about that time, the police arrived and wanted to arrest him. Imagine my surprise when, after getting him vertical and moving toward his door, they wanted to arrest me for obstruction of justice by impeding an arrest. Good thing I was sober. I got him home.

She "dealt with an actual emergency" I wonder if 'standing by as a good samaritan' qualifies as "dealing with an emergency" One would have to hope that the girl's airway was not blocked or in anaphylactic shock.

If you see someone in distress and don't attempt to help them if needed and if you are able, then you are a horrible human being.

How can I not help somebody in obvious distress unless the situation is suspect that is such as someone in the middle of the road with a seemingly malfunctioning vehicle. One also has to be wary of people that take advantage of those that stop to help in order to rob them or worse, but is always good to help those in distress whenever possible.

If someone is in need and I can do anything to help them I always try to. I also believe in karma. I also don't feel the need to brag about what i have done, just doing what i can is enough. :)
