The on-screen hero of "The Hunger Games" dealt with an actual emergency on Monday like a real-life hero. According to The Daily News, actress Jennifer Lawrence noticed a young girl who had collapsed in front of her Santa Monica apartment, and stayed with the girl until help got there. Several images were taken at the scene, showing Lawrence in a kneeling position by the girl's side.

Police would not reveal much about the incident, but explained, "[Lawrence] was walking her dog when she saw the juvenile. She stood by as a Good Samaritan until officers arrived and spoke with them. It was a couple of juveniles involved in the incident. It could have been alcohol related. She’s okay." Have you ever come to the aid of a stranger? If so, tell us your story!

I was doing X-rays on a lady when I worked in hospitals. And she was pretty beat up. She began to talk to me about it. The husband was abusive. She had tried to leave. But since he was a state patrol he always found her using his cop network. I had a friend who was a counselor and I called him. He got her to safety in another state.

One has to be careful these days with all the scammers out there but there truely are people in need so we have to be able to read the situation to help those who are honest. There are many situations that are easy to read and you can tell if they are sincere. Be alert, use common sense, with some caution. The person in need may be yourself someday so it is good not to be indifferent. Lets not let the corrupt turn us into uncaring people. Most of us, I think, do have the desire to help another.

When you see a young lady outside of a disabled vehicle with a baby in her arms and a
toddler daughter clinging to her side and a cellphone with a spent battery, then in good
conchenceness do what it takes to get the lot of them to safety and help. In my case, I
was able to fit them all in my vehicle and take them to a nearby shopping mall where she
was able to obtain a fresh battery for her cellphone and call her husband for assistance,
and be kept out of harms way by a vigilant mall security team in the meantime. She was
also able to feed her daughters and herself and keep the older daughter entertained in the
    meantime as well.

Shot down many times. Wounded twice. Not just me, but many aircrews in my Troop availed themselves of the amazing talents of these young guys. I saw them do stuff in a muddy rice paddy that MDs only do in ORs.

Helicopters don't just fall from the sky when you lose engine power; it's called 'autorotation'. Although it's true that depending on the specifics of the damage, you could just fall; I saw it happen, and it's ugly.

Navy Corpsman in Vietnam! Taking care of your troops is our highest calling and at times we had to give more of ourselves to address their needs that often go beyond medical. We carry that home with us and at times a whole lot more.

There is a small part of our population that lack the "genes" to feel compassion for mankind. You see this trait in murders and some politicians who selfishly ignore the common good of all the people for votes to remain "thieves".

Most of those politicians who voted to pass the so called "Health care" law, When this law is truly seen by all the entire thing, when an old and sick ex-marine is told he is no longer a useful citizen, so no more care, sorry but it is your turn to get the death pill, then we might see some rage. Right now? No one cares. Start now to replentesh your health, with the methods found on GAPS.me program, This is truly found to repair the body, and it does work. This is a diet for health, not for weight loss. Many of the foods are awesome, and you prepare them yourself.

    revbh
No. I sincerely think it's sad that you don't use your abilities to help other people, or that you don't look for opportunities for kindness.

And I sincerely think your English is very good. It's not your first language, yet you handle it very well.

i dont think you read my comments good but im not going to repeat myself and English is my first language does it really matters if i use correct punctuation for certain things online?
  • revbh brittany 2012/07/17 23:18:38
    revbh
Only if you want to be understood, apparently. However, I think you underestimate yourself in too many ways. That's my opinion, and I am as entitled to it as you are entitled to yours.

I admire people who learn other languages. Again, my opinion.

Your last message is the first in which I noticed a lack of punctuation. Your earlier posts had some unusual word usage and sentence structure. I assumed these were due to unfamiliarity with English. You also seemed to be trying to improve your ability to express yourself.

I respect your choices about how you want to present yourself. I wish you the best. Again, I hope you will realize that you have more talents and abilities than you think you do.

I was coming home by train one day after doing some job hunting in the windy city. A lady at the station was panicked, and clearly not in a good state of mind. She was asking everyone for help, and was panicked because she'd lost her family, had no money, and her cell phone was dead. She couldn't remember her husband's phone number, she wasn't from the area, and all she knew was the name of the station she needed to be at - a station that wasn't on the same train line that she needed to be at. Despite the fact it was a poor decision - one I would think better of today - I showed her the way to the proper station, where I was able to see her reunite with her husband and child. I booked it back the six-or-so city blocks and made the next train home, feeling pretty awesome.

Sometimes, im abit shy... I cant do drastic things like stopping abusive people, but when i remember this one time, i was out shopping with my mum and there was this lady in a wheelchair, And she couldn't carry a basket, but she was struggling to hold her things like shampoo bottlea and things like that, and push her wheels at the same time. So i told my mum what i was gonna do and i got a Basket and i actually walked around with this lady and carried all her stuff in the basket for her. She was really appreciative. I liked that lady =) It made me feel good =P xxx
