Jennifer Lawrence Could Make The Glass House Adaptation Happen At Lionsgate

Jennifer Lawrence isn't just the star of the biggest movie of the year
so far, but she's the biggest star ever for Lionsgate, who rocketed into
big-time studio status thanks to The Hunger Games last month. And though Lawrence is busy fielding jobs from just about everywhere-- the X-Men: First Class sequel, the Hunger Games sequel, the historical drama Serena-- she may somehow make the time to stay loyal to the company that shares her fame.

According to Deadline, Lawrence is in negotiations to star in The Glass Castle,
an adaptation of Jeannette Walls's memoir about her turbulent and
poverty-stricken childhood. Lionsgate has just acquired the rights to
the book, which was published in 2005, and you have to wonder if the
timing is just because they have Lawrence interested in starring, and
now think they can make some cash off a slightly dated book. Indeed,
when the book was first published in 2005, Brad Pitt's Plan B had the
option on the story, and clearly let it lapse. What else but Lawrence
could explain this new interest?

Nothing seems to be set yet, and Lawrence clearly has plenty of other
options in front of her. But she has no reason to take anything but
great starring roles at this point, and this sounds like another good
one for her. Without knowing any of the myriad other complicating
details, it's hard not to imagine this one working out.
