Jay-Z and Beyonce's Baby Already Hits the Charts: Commendable or Crazy?

Earlier in the week, Jay-Z dropped a single called "Glory," all about his newborn baby, Blue Ivy Carter, and featured baby Blue crying at the end. She didn't exactly write the song, but she was apparently credited because Billboard's editorial director is naming her the youngest person ever to debut on the Billboard music charts.

Bill Werde told The New York Daily News, "It's historical. The charts are almost 72 years old, so to be the youngest ever to chart is something." The song debuted at No. 74 on the R & B/hip-hop charts. The previous record-holder is Jordy Lemoine, who debuted at No. 82 on the Hot 100 in 1992 with "Dur dur d'être bébé! (It's Tough to Be a Baby)." We don't know about you guys, but we think this "record" is pretty darn silly. Do you think it's commendable -- or just plain crazy?

Jay Z and Beyonce claim they want privacy and treated the hospital like Fort Knox. Yet, they recorded the child's voice (we are lead to believe) and released it to the world before the baby left the hospital. These two self absorbed ego maniacs are just brewing up a money cup for the highest bidder aka highest paying idiots for baby pictures and an interview.

On top of that Jay Z & others spent a grand total of $1.5 million on baby gifts.

Myself Really?sure that this would have been a whole lot different if we weren't annoyed with the fact that they hogged up a whole hospital wing with empty needed rooms and other parents who wanted to see their newborns.

She didn't write the song. She didn't sing for the song. All she did was provide sound effects of a baby crying. Wait a second... hasn't there been songs before that have had babies crying? I say... try again here.

That is exactly what I was thinking. Why should their baby be considered a record breaker when that one wasn't?

Not in the literal sense...... Crazy As in Bananas! Seriously this is crazy. As a society we really need to re-evaluat our priorities and values.

Yes it is commendable that Jay-Z is using the tools at his disposal to show his proud papa status. Really who among us would not do the same for our child if we could express the joy of our first born in a song heard round the world?

But the problem is that the "celebrity baby syndrome" is taking hold! Suri, The Jolie-Pitt tribe, Blanket, Paris et al...... Now BIC?!? This fascination I hope will end soon and we find some real business to poke our collective noses into.

You know what? What's so crazy about it? There are a lot of people already going on about the choice of names. I grew up with a really nice girl whose parents named her Azure Blue (fill in last name here). Who cares if they name her something different, assuming it is not something she will not be made fun of for, and this doesn't seem like she will. For the record, Obama's own MOTHER was named Stanley Ann...now That IS something clearly objectionable simply because it is, unlike Taylor or Michael, a DEFINITIVELY MALE name given to a GIRL, instead of one that is simply used amiguously for either gender. Now if that doesn't cause emotional scarring and manifestations of unhealthy behavior, I don't know what does. This being said, since when, in this day and age, does showing the world you love your spouse and child, and are happy to have them, a "bad" thing? Don't we, as a society, NEED more of that? I say good for them :) - and how is it any of our business to criticize?

What he's doing is fine, he's setting up his daughter to become successful no one had a problem with Will Smith throwing his kids into rolls and buying movies for his son to star in. If you have the means and the tools to ensure your family is a success then do it. P.S. Jay is the best rapper in history.
