It's official! Janet Jackson is engaged to her boyfriend, Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Mana. According to Us Weekly, the 46-year-old singer will marry her 37-year-old fiance this spring in Qatar.

According to a source, the wedding "will cost millions," and Wissam is "flying in all of Janet's friends and family on private jets." Another source says that he "gave her a huge, expensive ring," and that Janet is "afraid it will get lost, so she keeps it locked up!"

Apparently Jackson is keen on starting a family with her boyfriend of two years, as the source says "she wants kids. If she can't have them, she will adopt." This will be Jackson's third marriage. She was previously married to James DeBarge and Rene Elizondo, and was involved in a high-profile relationship with Jermaine Dupri until about 2009. Do you think that the third time (down the aisle) is a charm?

It very well could be, I don't know. No one does. Though I have to admit, reading the article and seeing words like "millions, "private jets," and "huge ring," makes it sound as if she's only marrying him for one reason only, but I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, because I've never cared about what she does in her private life. I just like her music, particularly the '90s stuff.

I've never been a fan, but wish them well. Three does seem to be a magic number. I'm glad I didn't have to find out if the 3rd marriage is a charm. I was foolish and immature and married at 18. Divorce from hell then met the love of my life.
At least she's learned alot by now. I usually never wish anyone other than the best, so good luck to them. Odds on "ever lasting"? I wouldn't bet on it, but hope they beat those odds.

I answered NO to this question. However, it is reasonable to suspect that this will be the charm for her. Women love money, and need it to "feel" happy. It is part of their DNA to want a man that is capable of taking care of their needs.

Look at Salma Hayek; she has been married to a billionaire for nearly five years, with no signs that it is going to end, soon.

Look at Naomi Campbell; although she is not married to him yet, her billionaire boyfriend is - according to close friends - someone to whom she intends to hold on.

Koatz, what in the world...? Woman can have, and do have, their own careers these days. Sure, there are some that want a comfortable life style, and don't want to be in a marriage where there will be financial struggles, but so what? All being equal, a person that you love with financial stability, and a person that you love that is not financially stable, why not marry the stable person? In my marriage, I am the more stable, and I am a female. 21st century, ok?

Same here. Americans don't understand Islam. Many think it is a lot like the differences a Methodist and a Lutheran. The only difference is that neither the Lutheran or Methodist will kill the other as infidels or wipe out a small population just to get one person.
