James Bond; who is the best?

I'm normally a traditionalist, and would, until recently, have picked Sean Connery, but I think that Daniel Craig, even though he's probably the least handsome Bond, is the only one who realistically portrays a hard-man, a ruthless agent, and a killer. Who do you pick?
(p.s. For you experts out there, I know David Niven played Bond but I'm not counting him!)

Matey, you have a point. He is possibly the least acclaimed Bond, but he is the only one who refused to take the role until they made it more serious!

Not only do you have to compare him to Roger Moore, who is almost Austin Powers with the camp, mis-directed comedy; but he is also the Bond that is closest to the Bond of the books. In the books he is a very troubled guy; he beats women, he is vengeful. License to Kill is a personal vendetta story. That is true Bond.

Most definitely Sir Sean, but Craig runs a close second. They are two different types of Bonds.

I would have left Dalton off the list. He is a pansy-ass, sissy boy who had no business playing Bond. And you could have left Lazenby off as well. Seriously? A married Bond who cries? Bleh!

Daniel Craig has potential, but he's got a way to go to catch up. My favorites list:
1. Sean Connery
2. Roger Moore (yes, I know it's a campy Bond, but that's OK)
3. Daniel Craig (his first outing was spectacular)
4. George Lazenby (I'm aware I may be the only one that thinks this)
5. Timoth Dalton (I think his bond portrayal has aged better than Brosnan's)
6. Piece Brosnan

Yeah, he looks like he might have fitted the bill. But what I love about Craig's Bond is that there's nothing corny about him. Did you know, though, that Ian Fleming pictured Bond as looking like Hoagy Carmichael?

Strange but true! Fleming wrote it in his diary. Lot of respect for Fleming though; he actually was a bit of a 'Bond' himself, during the war.

Craig is doing a good job...what I don't like is Lady M....she pisses me off with her snarky attitude and complete lack of trust with Bond....the last movie where she says "Welcome back Mr. Bond", and he replies "I never left." I really felt his anger watching the movie...it was done perfectly...

Haha, man, I know Craig isn't the coolest, or very good-looking, but he's a believable hard-ass who gets the job done! Connery's Bond films are awesome though.
