its the same theme over and over on television. They are even remaking old shows. I really hate it when even books and video games are made into movies.
Not when it comes to programming on TV and what is showing in the movie theaters. We keep remaking movies that did great back in there day. Why ruin them now...
Id like to think so but I see less and less of it as time goes on. Things are repeated and with every time they come around they are diluted a bit more and more of soul and reasoning.
After the big Writer's Strike a few years ago, TV companies found it easier and cheaper to just make a bunch of reality shows. No actors, no writers, just editors to make everyday people seem interesting. That's why there are like 4 different pawn shop shows right now. Even the Discovery channel, History channel, Nat Geo, and MTV are all doing reality shows. And ratings are becoming more important, which is why the History channel has switched from actual history to attention grabbing pseudo-history (Ancient Aliens, Monster Hunter, the end of the world-type shows, etc.) Shame, really.
They have to be out there somewhere; they just have to get noticed. I did see a good new one this week called "Final Witness" - true crime stories told from the deceased victim's point of view.
I do. Not often found on TV, but they are still around. Some might consider Hillbilly Handfishin' to be an original "reality" show. Never been one like it, that I recall.: )
Reality shows aren't reality, so I seldom find them interesting. Nature shows are interesting, because they are actual films, usually, without human intervention.
However few and far between.I've more than a few times written on this very site, to more persons than what should be acceptable deeming them "Incapable of an original thought".Followers who are unable of forming their own opinions. It's an unfortunate daily occurance that some read someone else's opinion however devoid of fact ,reason and raitional are so complacent to then make it their own
I believe all minds are original, but most lack the innovation or imagination to appear truly unique. And unfortunately these people tend not to be the "ass-kissing" agreeable types that easily get into positions of power, be they politicians, businessmen (or women), or television schedulers.
Check out comedy shows like Wilfred (on FX), Comedy Bang-Bang, Bunk, Portlandia, Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret (all on IFC), Workaholics (on Comedy Central). These are few unique shows.
For drama - Damages, Suits, Hell on Wheels, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead.
I don't like it, but can understand it.
