For many football fans and even some NFL teams, it's the most wonderful time of the year. The 2012 NFL Draft is upon us. This isn't just teams picking rookies in hopes that they'll become future Hall of Famers, or at the very least, solid contributors. This is about trades. This is about teams making or breaking themselves. It's about the fans who can look back positively, or negatively, at this day years down the road.
The NFL Draft encompasses so many different storylines and emotions. Each year, there's a draft headliner as in a couple players who are a "can't miss." In other words, if you have a top pick and that guy's still on the board, you darn sure better take him. There's two of those guys this year and they're largely expected to go No. 1 and No. 2: standout quarterbacks Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III (RG3).
Both players are pegged as franchise saviors, long before they've even stepped onto an NFL field. According to multiple reports, the Indianapolis Colts have told Luck they will select him first. That means Luck could/will be filling in the gigantic, legendary shoes of ex-Colts QB Peyton Manning, who's now with the Denver Broncos. On the bright side, Luck will have millions of reasons (in the form of dollars) to help him deal with that pressure.

According to similar reports, RG3 has all but been told by the Washington Redskins that he'll be selected as No. 2. The Redskins by no means are a great team compared to the Colts, but at least RG3 comes into a situation with lower expectations, although it helps filling in for Rex Grossman as opposed to Manning... Anything can happen in the NFL. Draft coverage begins tonight on ESPN, as well as the NFL Network. Is this a make or break night for your favorite NFL team?
