It's a rumor that actually makes sense. Justice League Movie Could Include Lobo

With no concrete information on who will direct the film or star in it, it's rumor mill mania time for Justice League, which is positioned as DC's answer to Marvel's ultra-successful The Avengers,
yet another collection of superheroes brought together for both the
common good and massive box office profits. Warner Bros. has confirmed
that they do want to make a Justice League movie, and there's a writer
working on the script, but beyond that we know almost nothing for sure--
which is where the speculation really takes off.



Today's rumor is very much unconfirmed and speculative, but it's actually not the craziest thing we've heard. Comic Book Movie
reports that the studio is "kicking around" the idea of including Lobo,
the hard-edged mercenary character created in the early 1980s. If the
name is familiar to you, it might be because the studio has already
begun development of a standalone Lobo movie, with Journey 2: The Mysterious Island director Brad Peyton set to direct and rewrite the script, and his Journey 2 star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has confirmed that he could play the guy.



There's no word on how Lobo would fit in with the League, or even how
seriously they're considering including him. It's also unclear if a
standalone Lobo movie would make it into theaters before the projected
2015 release date for Justice League, though if they've
considering working Lobo into the League, I'd bet it will go the
opposite way. DC has done an excellent job establishing the cinematic
Batman, of course, and will be doing their best to do the same by
Superman with next year's Man of Steel. But they seem to be taking the opposite approach of The Avengers
for the rest of the crowd, putting them all together in a group film
first then branching out into standalones. Whether that will work, and
whether Lobo will be the first character to benefit from that, is yet
another one of those mysteries we'll have to deal with for now.
