I believe Lampy said He referring to toaster. But Toaster's higher voice sort of threw me off haha I remember toaster as a girl :P

No, but if it's a toaster, it's gender neutral. Does it have a dick?

With no butt, no dick, no boobs; I always assumed the Toaster was gender neutral. But if you watch the movie the Toaster's voice is very high and as a little kid I assumed the Toaster was a girl.

I ALWAYS thought the brave little toaster was a girl, growing up. But APPARRENTLY he's a boy. I always thought it made more sense and had much more of a "heroic vibe" to make the main star and hero of the movie be the only girl with a crew of guys. Making kids think, "wow, this girl toaster led this crew of guy appliances to their master." idk if this was a Disney movie or not, but wasn't this around the time of the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast and other "girl power" movies?? And ontop of that the toaster's voice is so high and feminine sounding! idk, I still think it's a girl... lol

I always thought so too. A girl with a crew of guys who ends up being the hero makes a ton more sense to me. The pitch of Toaster's voice is high which threw me off too. The movie was released in 1987. It wasn't originally a Disney movie, I think they bought the rights to it or something. But yeah The Little Mermaid (1989) and Beauty & The Beast (1991) were the girl power movies along with others and BLT wasn't far behind at all.
Apparently Toaster is a boy, but then I've heard that Toaster is also genderless.

omg yeah!! It does make so much more sense that way, doesn't it?! I know the actual actress that voices the toaster is a girl, and she doesn't have like, a manly voice, so I think it makes perfect sense that the toaster is a girl. But I just watched it just now, and I SUPPOSE there are a few refrences that the toaster's a boy. Like one scene where I think lampy says something like, "hey boys" or something. I heard that it was a Disney movie, but it makes a lot more sense that Disney just bought it or something.

Yeah it does. The voice actress is a girl, so it would make more sense. There were a couple of times I think when Lampy said "he" referring to Toaster when Toaster went missing for a little bit.

Disney was associated with it in some way. But I didn't see it in the giant list of Disney movies either.

yeah, right? i think they probably originally intended for the Toaster to be a girl, but then they changed their minds or something and decided to keep the Toaster like, a mystery. Because none of the other characters say "she," yet it's voiced by a female. Idk, I figure even if little kid me knew the difference btwn a guy and a girl's voice, i'm sure many other kids thought the Toaster was a girl too. lol.

And yeah, i knew it wasn't a legit "Disney movie" but recently I saw some kinda article saying it was Disney so it confused me.

That may very well be. Toaster has always been a girl to me.

I found some info on the production. Disney Studios bought the rights to the novel of the same name in 1982 two years after the novel was finished & the film was released in 1987 by Walt Disney pictures.

ah, ok. That does make more sense now. so it's not a "Disney Movie" but it's owned by Disney. I get it....

Like any female, toaster likes things placed inside it, then when things warm up and get cooking she ejects 'em!

its a boy, though the voice and actions are in question, the accent is still a boy (much like other tv shows, where a girl acutally plays a boy character example : rugrats tommy is acutally a girl) but i think it was based off to be a boy

Really? Thanks for clearing that up. I had a feeling Toaster is a girl. I think Blanky's a younger boy.

I saw a youtube video about the making of BLT, & the actress who does toasters voice said something about Toaster being a girl. But I don't know if that was sarcasm, or what.

In Poland, Lampy is a girl apparently.

That's the Polish version though. Lampy's a male in the US version.
I've been watching alot of videos about BLT & the portrayal of the appliances' genders vary from country to country. It's pretty interesting. Toaster's gender's always been a question of debate. I always saw Toaster as a girl, like more of a tomboy.
