I know it's going to be hard for some people to believe but when I was in high school there were no girls sports until my senior year they started a tennis team. I was already in college so I didn't get to even do that! I was a cheerleader for a year but I always wanted to be the one playing not cheering for someone else. My daughter played volleyball, basketball and softball and now her daughter is playing softball in high school.
I didn't play any in high school. Kids all hung out in different groups and I noticed that the jocks were rude and arrogant; therefore, I naturally gravitated away from them. They seemed to think they were better than me because their parents had more money than mine. I would have done well on the basketball and baseball teams and was better than many that were on them just from playing playground ball.
I went to a very small high school, I participated in football, basketball, baseball and track in high school. I am probably the worst high school basketball player ever to receive a college scholarship. But, did I ever take advantage of that opportunity.
I did not play contact sports in HS cause of a bad knee. But I did this for 8 years & few times during my adult years. Last average before an accident 190
I did. I played football all 4 years. We we're pretty good. Won our league both my varsity years and went well into the state championships. I played in every game but one.
I ran track 3 years mostly to stay in shape for football. My senior year I graduated early and headed for Europe with a close friend a bike and a EuRail Pass. I did return to graduation ceremony that late may.

I still play Soccer.
I did run track, as a Jay Vee.
I had the chance to run Varsity Cross Country, but didn't take it.
