I was not allowed to watch or listen to Elvis when I was in school. My folks thought he was lewd. I was in my 20's, after he came back from the service before I listened to him very much or watched any of his movies. My favorite song of his is, "In the Ghetto."

I just think it's sad that someone with such talent had demons that he
couldn't control, let alone tame. That seems to happen to quite a few
talented artists be they musicians, painter, actors, etc.

I think he may have died the year I was born. But I am a huge Elvis fan! My daddy is an Elvis fan, and a lot of his music reminds me of him. He also reminds me of my grandmother. SHE LOVED ELVIS.

Elvis was born in January of 1935. That would make him 72 today.

We all have a certain entertainer that we like, there happens to be a large group of us that really like Elvis, for those of you that don't see what our interest is that is okay, each generation has their own good taste.

I am sick and tired of hearing about Elvis Prestly. They celebrate him like he's a God or something. That's just like people to worship a man who was an drug addict and alcoholic.God says we are to worship the creator not the creaion.

judge not lest you be judge ,do you know for sure that elvis didn't get saved before he died,I heard he did, only God knows and I don't worship him all though some people probably did,he was good man regardless of his personal issues.worship of anyone or anything is wrong unless its God.I thought this was a nice memory poll.

I have some memories of Elvis and the impact he had throughout the years but I do not get emotional over his death which was tragic, to say the least. Here was a man who had a god-given talent for singing but he died early from such a fast lifestyle including prescription drugs and etc. The only thing I can say at this moment is rest in peace, Elvis!

He was a great performer, and "I Can't Help Falling in Love With You" is one of my favorite songs. While it's very unfortunate that many took advantage of him, and that probably led to his premature death, I don't get emotional over his death.

Since he died before I was born, his death doesn't hold the kind of gravity as it did for some other people. Still, it's a shame that the King died the way he did.

I was crushed when he died. I was only 9 at the time but I really believed he was going to marry me.lol I cried for days. I started collecting heavy after his death. One of my apartments I had looked like a shrine. lol I love his music and even the movies. I think he has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard and still do. I have toned it down alot since I had my girls. No more pictures, rugs, posters, statues, ashtrays, candles, glasses etc, etc...around the house. Man, I was a freak!!! But I still Love Him!

I’m much less emotional about death at this point in my life, but I do recognize the great significance of each person.
I am still a great fan of Elvis. Our Wedding Song is a bootleg version of “Can’t Help Falling in Love”. It was one of the original takes started by what sounds like a music box. I still think that it’s one of the prettiest songs ever written.
Elvis was a substantial influence in many ways, but stories have come out subsequent to his passing that indicate that there was an emptiness within. I pray that he is happy now and at peace.

I still remember where I was and what Iwas doing when I got the news. My mother cried like a baby. I was really upset for her. Elvis, and his music and memories evoke a lot of emotion for me. I lived in Hawaii while he was still alive and my parents went to his concert there. I cant say it was as ttraumatic for me as the death of Lady Di, but I was very saddened at the time.

Never really think about it, sorry. Elvis was alright, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed a lot of his music and his movies (while not anything spectacular) were always fun to watch. My mom was the big Elvis fanatic, not me. I always tended more towards the Beatles and Sinatra.
