Is Reggie Miller a Hall of Famer?

NBA legend and former Indiana Pacers guard Reggie Miller can finally call himself a Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer. Miller for whatever reason, didn't make the cut last year, despite huge support from fans and the media. Others however, have said Miller, is a bit overrated. Whether he's overrated or underrated, he is now going to be part of the Hall of Fame.

Miller is a five-time All-Star, which might sound tame for a Hall of Famer, but his legendary clutch shots against the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls, and Los Angeles Lakers in various playoff series will be etched in the minds of long-time basketball fans for years to come -- if not forever. His career average in points per game is 18.2 with a nearly 94-percent free throw average and 40-percent three point average.

The Hall of Fame inductees include Miller himself, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Katrina McClain, referee Hank Nichols, All-American Red Heads (female version of Harlem Globetrotters), Don Barksdale, Lydija Alexeeva, Jamaal Wilkes, Ralph Sampson, Mel Daniels, Chet Walker, and Nike founder Phil Knight. The induction ceremony for Reggie Miller is set for September 7 in Springfield, Mass. Do you think he deserves it?

All the records he set! And man enough to stand by ONE team for EIGHTEEN seasons. Not many 'stars' make a commitment like that when someone flashes $$$. He let his game do the talking on the court, and he is a respectable citizen off the court. He maintained his professionalism, never got the ring, and lost most of the hardware he did win to a fire. He deserves recognition for his records and what he did for the game in his era.

Excellent player and if it weren't for Michael Jordon he would of done better for himself. Clutch shooter especially in the 3 point range.

During his years he played against the Knicks, he always used to aggravate Spike Lee who taunted him from the sidelines. Anybody who aggravates Spike Lee over such a long period of time, belongs in the Hall of Fame!

he's the only reason our Indiana Pacers were ever in a playoff and won! He's the reason we watched every game back then, just to see the man hit a few 3 point shots. Of course he's a Hall Of Famer. He was the Pacers. My kids saw him in a local Wal Mart at the height of his career, buying a vacuum cleaner with his wife. The coolest Pacer to the kids was Rick Smits , very nice guy and good to the kids. Bad knees. Saw him out and about at festivals just hanging out with his family, can't miss him, he's very tall. Nice guy. Reggie was da man and he & Spike's fake fued was a blast to watch. The Pacers are doing well this year and Larry Bird is leaving as president. So next year may be even better. I hope our Colts can do well w/o Peyton. Can't be any worse than last season!! We shall see.

I suspect Miller's arrogance prevented him from gaining the votes.
He always had a big mouth with little in the way of physical attributes to back it up.
But his basketball talent speaks volumes.
Perhaps had he not been born with a tongue, he would be "better liked".
(same might be said about me in concerns with speaking before thinking)

Come on man, the crap New York got away with the 4 point foul call outrageous. I quit watching the NBA it is so crooked in favor of big market teams. We love basketball in Indiana and Reggie was great it will never be the same.

Actually, Pacer's have never been the same since The Malice in The Palace with the Pistons. Ron Artest and his thugs ruined it for us. Then getting caught out at strip clubs with guns and shoot outs repeatedly was the nail in the coffin. I don't even know the name of 1 Pacer right now. & they are doing very well. Larry leaving may be a boost too, they need some new blood in the front office. Larry Bird is a cool guy but has made some bad decisions as their president. He's a good name to have there tho.

It's too bad he didn't win at least one ring, then this wouldn't be such a question in peoples' minds.

But I'm also glad he didn't go "ring-chasing" like so many Hall of Fame Types do late in their careers.
