If they had a better selection, yes. (Newer movies, more TV shows, etc...)

Looks like I'll be sticking with my AppleTV/iTunes for streaming. Fine with me.

The rest I will be downloading illegally. Until the asshats at the media companies can sit on their greedy hands and actually offer things the customers really, really WANT, they can kiss my ass.

Netflix made their changes knowing they would lose some business. Overall , they still expected to see a better bottom line. But , it turns out , they've lost more business than they expected. Keep the pressure on them folks and let them know how you feel!

HELL NO! I was skeptical before the increase! Why? You can always expect corporations to get greedy! ALWAYS! I'll never trust ANY big corporation, EVER!

Thinking about canceling Netflix anyway, as MunchKin-x said "crap" to watch anyway and the DVD's I did receive wouldn't play in three different players ! So I canceled that part already.

NO, I cancelled my account with them. I'm considering canceling sattlelite as well. I don't watch the tube too much. You would think with all the 900 plus channels there would be something decedent to watch. I do love watching House. :)

Hell NO. All they did was force many of the Blockbuster movie rental places to close. And now that they've accomplished it - they are sticking it to us! We are netflix subscribers but now, we've switched to the "rent dvd only" plan and we are seriously considering quitting them. Totally agree with Earl Collins.

Its barely worth the 8 dollars it is now. Most of the movies they have on there on things I would never watch. And the T.V. shows are all crap as well. Maybe if they actually started putting out some new and popular movies, Maybe then I would pay a bit more. But most defiantly not 16 bucks.

I ditched the Dish and Direct TV and Cable TV about a year ago. I made my own HD antenna from wood and metal coat hangers. I now watch HD-TV for free over the air waves. I get nearly 50 channels and get old B&W; movies, 70's shows and movies, 80's shows and movies, and all the new shows on the five major networks. If I want to see the few shows I watched on the pay channels before I go to HULU and watch them. I think paying for TV is just silly. The only person not getting screwed in the deal is the TV Provider. Who jacks up your rates whenever they feel the need. NO THANK YOU !!!!!
FREE TV is the best TV around.

I am not stealing anything. In the Atlanta area there are 81 HD channels broadcast free of charge over the air waves. All you need is a converter and an HD antenna. I chose to build mine instead of buying one from Phillips or RCA. I did have to use a signal booster because I am nearly 50 miles outside Atlanta. I may not get the SCI-FI network or Disney, or USA, but we can see those programs on HULU or on the particular channel's website.
I get channels like THIS TV and TUFF TV and the BIG 5.(NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, and UPN)

I have netflix. In Sept when they start charging more I will change my plan to stream line movies only. They know people today are having a hard time now they want to raise the rates F that.

I loved Netflix. It was one of the very few things out there in this world that was actually a good deal. One of the first things I considered and did pay for online. (I'm an old school techie)

But now.... not so much. Looks like it's time to find "free'er" alternatives again.

Add 5:1 sound and all possible HD, then I might consider the hike.

nope , i cancelled mine on general principal, most of their movies are free on other sites , plus the the ones i want to watch , are always order, dumping a small increase would have been acceptable, but to 60% is just a con job . free sites watch order dumping increase acceptable 60 job rip off

We've had Netflix for the past 11 years, but over the last few I've seen what I consider major downgrades to service, and many of us are getting increasingly upset. Friends/Community feature = Gone
    User created lists = Gone
    Customer service email = Gone
    Prices = UP multiple times

Streaming is nice, but the selection is limited, which is why it should remain free with the dvd subscription.

No. Absolutely not. While there is a lot of free content, a lot of is is rented (.99 for most shows, etc...). Most shows have season passes (one fee for the entire season), etc...

Getting NEW shows to be present on the AppleTV was a feat. Getting all media corporations to agree on one price plan for watch all you want?

    When hell freezes over... ;-)

Netflix was good (at its previous price, at least) for watching old shows that we never got into, old movies we never saw, and kids shows. Otherwise, meh...

With our Apple TV, Netflix and a 20 year old antenna on the top of our house that gets 80 channels, many in HD for FREE, we got rid of our cable/Satelite. Lovely so far.

Having it seamlessly play all of the iTunes content on my computer through my HD TV, however, it what I use it for the most.

I changed my subscription a minute after getting their notification in my email.
The idea was phrased in their email about the change...to see how many people prefer streaming over getting DVDs,
I believe when they find out, they will raise the streaming cost and limit your streaming choices even more that they already do.

Not with the selection they have, it is a nice supplement to the DVD rentals, but that is all. I often watch movies with the subtitles displayed so I don't have to turn the volume way up to hear what they are whispering only to have WWIII break out 2 seconds later. Very few of the movies on streaming offer subtitles unless they are a foreign language film to begin with, crazy as it sounds some people actually like the little extras offered on dvd that is not available on streaming. It seems that Netflix has forgotten who the customer base is that helped them to become so big, just ask Blockbuster how well forgetting who your customers are works. The time is ripe to try other services and Netflix seems bent on pushing people towards that.
