Ummm.. It is called American Idol... and like her or not, she is an idol to millions of girls everywhere. Personally, I am not sure who else would be MORE quailified. The funniest part is that all of you American Idol heads think it is about singing. The show is called American Idol, not American Vocalist.

Don't think she can sing that well, and she definitely used her daddy's connections to get where she is, but you have to give it to her for taking advantage of the opportunities presented to her.

No I don't think Miley qualifies for a mentor. Not only because she can't sing but she hasn't been in the business long emough to be giving advice to others. For those of you who are defending her with the comments, "it's called American Idol and Miley is an American Idol," that's ridiculous.. the show may be called American Idol but it is a singing competition. There are alot of American Idols that don't have a clue how to sing. If American Idol wasn't a signing competition we'd be seeing Tiger Woods wanna bees, tennis players, football players, Actors , Actress'. Is anyone watching the show to see a wanna be basketball player?

Yes, she can sing and she has been in the business for all her life which IS long enough and is so sucessful she is "QUAILIFIED " to give advice. MILEY IS AN EXELLENT PERSON BTW SO YOU CAN SAY WHAT YOU LIKE BUT THERE WILL ALWAYS BE HER FANS TO OUT NUMBER THE SOCALL "HATERS" ....

Sorry, that should probably be "whom", not who - long time since English class! lol Scanning some of the posts after I did mine, I wonder how many of these folks who think Miley can't sing and has no talent have, or could, do the things and endure the things it takes to be successful in show business. Daddy might have opened a door, but after that you are on your own. All I can say is, been there, tried that, could not hack it and really admire anyone, of what ever age or talent who can. If you are a success, you can be a mentor. All you no talent haters - go write on your bed-room walls, like before mommy got you the 'puter!

The show being called "American Idol" and all makes her qualified, just as LAVA9611 said, as she is an idol of millions. But if those American idol contestants on the show really want to become worthwhile idols with lasting, and not merely momentary, careers, they should get someone with far more experience and class than that cam-whore of a Disney-kid. And seriously, Disney has been going downhill moral and quality wise, well most kid-oriented shows in general aren't as good as the ones from the 80's and before.

Holy Cow!! The girl can't sing and has no talent! Unless of course the "nose" is considered a musical instrument. She made it to T.V. because of Daddy and no other reason. She, just like all the others will be partying it up and getting high.

No, because from what I have seen from American Idol... you actually have to have a slight amount of talent to even make it pass the auditions. Why give someone with absolutely no talent a job of a mentor for aspiring singers? It's like having a student failing remedial math teach Honors Calculus.

She seems like a great person and I like her music very much, but I don't think she's fit to mentor on American Idol. I watched the show and when she was listening to them all she could say was good things. I think she should have told them exactly what was wrong with them.. Instead of being the "good guy" in the situation. (: Love you Miley.

yeah the contestants need constructive criticism, not be reminded of the things they do well week after week, thats why theyre still on idol, cuz they know they have something special that america likes. and thats funny that you put "love you miley" cuz she wouldnt have time to read this. haha :) but i get it, you're showing your appreciation for her. i dont like her but everyone has their likes and dislikes.

Most of all she is not qualified to be a role model to young girls in this country. You make your money by selling Disney, you better darn well live up to the image. Don't hook them with sweetness then expect them to follow you when you pole dance.

yep. i dont care what ANYONE says, miley downright pole-danced there's no way around it. i watched as she held onto a pole and dipped her butt down to her feet and threw her butt in the air. thats called pole dancing people! i heard the lamest excuse ever for it one time, someone said she needed something to hold on to so they put a pole there for her and she held onto it. hahahaha
