The Philadelphia Eagles disappointed in 2011 and didn't make the playoffs, but at least they can say their quarterback Michael Vick is No. 1! Unfortunately, it's for the wrong reasons. Tom Van Riper, Forbes.com, and Yahoo! Sports spent the last few months gathering data through various polls to find out that Vick is still America's most disliked athlete.
Even with his new contract, public praise from the NFL, and winning the "Comeback Player of The Year" Award, Vick is still trying to move on from his criminal past. Vick was one of the NFL's biggest stars in the mid-2000s, but a dog fighting conviction and a two-year jail sentence halted his career. He's come back, going from third-string to backup to now-starter for the Eagles, but even though his career has been rehabilitated on the field, the public still thinks he's pretty foul.
Aside from Michael Vick taking the No. 1 spot, other disliked athletes on the list include Tiger Woods (Golf), Plaxico Burress (New York Jets, NFL), Ndamukong Suh (Detroit Lions, NFL) and Kris Humphries (New Jersey Nets, NBA). Do you think Michael Vick still deserves to be called America's Most Hated athlete?

brutalized...........time goes on........
Michael Vick is only a sub-issue. The larger issue is what to do about pit bulls. Pit Bulls are not just a regular dog, but an evil breed bred to attack and to kill. I agree with PETA (link below) that Pit Bulls should be eradicated as a breed.
How can anyone, including the AKC defend Pit Bulls as being innocent puppies? About 9 years ago a Pit Bull attacked my daughter's family as they walked down the street with their baby and dog. The Pit Bull attacked all of them, nearly killing their dog and biting my son in law who was only trying to defend his family. Pit bulls are frequently in the news for maiming children, and sometimes killing them. Whenever these attacks happen, why shouldn't the injured people sue the AKC for constantly lying about the disposition and record of Pit Bulls so as to keep them from being banned.
PETA supports banning the furt...

PETA supports banning the further breeding of pit bulls. PETA also favors restrictions or a ban on “ownership” of pit bulls that would, however, not affect the status of those pit bulls who are already in a good home. In other words PETA supports bills that include a grandfather clause allowing pit bulls that are spayed or neutered and already cared for to maintain their status for the rest of their lives.
