Wow, for the most part the entire situation is very sad. Couples do fight and say hurtful things when they feel wounded. I do not condone violence, but I do believe people say things they would never do when they are very upset. I am sorry, but celebrity, or not, so many lines have been crossed and there are things that should stay private. I am sure he feels betrayed in the worst way and is going to be mad and distrusting of allot of people for awhile. No, this should not end his career; he is an actor and has a plenty of real life material to pull from. He is guilty of being mad and angry and for expressing himself in the heat of the moment - he did not give his consent, nor was he paid for that recorded event - he is ultimately the victim being exploited and that should not be allowed. People should be ashamed of themselves for taking pleasure in others troubles.
that is a foolish notion...especially when he produces and directs his own movies...and people generally don't care what an actor's personal life is really like...they just want to see a kick-ass movie, and with Mel that's exactly what they're going to get
I am sitting here listening to the tapes right now. If the tapes are real it just means he will go to court and put himself into the spotlight more. If they aren't people are just going to say "poor Mel" and he will be able to continue with life as usual.
Its not about someones personal life its about talent and I've seen mel gibson act and he is talented. I'm not saying everything hes said or done is right i'm just saying that we need to diffrentiate someones social life from their career in some cases. I mean look at chris brown I think hes a awful and shouldn't perform again but people still love him and are still fans so it just goes to show someone will always back you no matter what.
I used to just love this guy. It is sad he has a terrible temper and hasn't seem to use any control over it either. I'm sure that even if his career is over, he can just retire in total comfort. I do think he would be wise to get some therapy.
So true!! One of the things I used to really admire about this man was his committed marriage and kids. I really thought he was one of the few that escaped the trappings of the Hollywood scene. I never like to see anyone take a fall.
I think she's setting him up his business should'nt be in the papers or on Tv that's just sad,. and she's doing it..He's sick and she's taking advantage of it..!!

Between the way he's been acting and his lack of big screen roles as of late, I would say yes. Though a re-insurgence of his career later would not surprise me.
