I do love her singing but best. I don't know I would still have to go with the Queen of Country who's still going strong. Ms Loretta Lynn.

Though still living, she's NOW 76 years old and her voice is a shadow of its former self.

I still love her voice. I like Martina but Loretta more. If you want someone younger I would go Trisha Yearwood.

She's the one I really like over the others. She's talented, has a beautiful, strong voice and she has a lot of style, not to mention so gorgeous.

To your ears. But to mine Dolly had a shrill cartoon-character like "chipmunky" voice. She also lacked the power and range of McBride, not to mention also that Dolly's contemporaries Tammy Wynette and Loretta Lynn were better.

If she isn't, she is without a doubt one of the most beautiful ever.

She has such a pure beautiful voice. Her song Concrete Angel still makes me sad....Or Broken Wing. She is not only a beautiful voice, but many of her songs have such good messages.

Brokop has a nice voice, but not many songs to her credit. Didn't even know about her till you mentioned her. From what I was able to hear on youtube, her voice seemed to indicate that she was a Patsy Cline fan.

Eh, the last female Canuck country songbird born east of Lloydminster with a good voice is Sylvia Tyson, nee Fricker (who is 71)!

Yes, Shania has a nice voice. I have her stuff on CD as well. But I think she's slightly under McBride voice-wise, about on par with Faith Hill and Trisha Yearwood. Another with a good voice that I like is Kathy Mattea. She has a "lilt" to her voice like Loretta Lynn, but her voice has a unique quality all her own that fascinates my ears.

Trisha's excellent. So's Faith Hill. But Martina's even better. Cline's been dead long before you were a gleam in your daddy's eye, so she doesn't qualify as a "still-living" female Country Music singer. But all-time I'd have to say Cline, Wynette and Lynn were about equally good.

Listen to the video, then listen to more by McBride, and I think you'll have to admit she's at least one of the best, maybe the best. She belts it out better than Yearwood, with stronger vocal chords. And McBride's range is better. Listen to her do the National Anthem's wide range on the video I posted.

P.S. Ever hear of Sammi Smith? She wasn't promo-ed much, so she wasn't very successful commercially. But I'd rank her along with Patsy Cline and Tammy Wynette as having the most feeling in her voice. Listen to the sensitivity in her voice, with its little slightly raspy twitches:

She has the best voice of any still-living female Country Music singer I know. Her version of the National Anthem blew me away.

You weren't hear a better non-studio recorded version of that than her version of the National Anthem. Wasn't anyway to edit out mistakes.
