Is Manny Ramirez exaggerating an injury to skip out on spring training?

He could just be playing it safe but i think he is a lazy bum, but im not one to judge so i will stick with 50/50 on him playing it safe or being lazy as usual. :p

probably he is hurt and you guys know how long it takes for a player to get back into the game, just for a small injury. And i think that he is being cautious.

He's had this issue for awhile. As a Yankee fan, I watched "Manny being Manny" for quite some time. He may be legitimately injured, but it will not stop the Manny "virus" from infecting the entire Dodgers team. I wish 'em luck!

AND I hope the Dodgers cut him loose! NObody is worth $45 mil for two years of part-time work, and Ramirez isn't all that good, and CERTAINLY not good for much except hitting anyway!

Lose the bum, and get somebody in to replace him who's younger, stronger, has better all-around skills, and a much better ATTITUDE!!!

He is no spring chicken and he has done this before if you remember the incident back in 03 it is self explanatory.

Most are or become. The more valuable the think they are, the worse they get. Look at that loser Chipper Jones. He should avoid the World Baseball Classic all together. He is worthless against the best the world has to offer.

I don't know, but Manny Ramirez is what is wrong with baseball. He is a great hitter, and I think players should get what they are worth. I don't know what he is doing playing in the national league. He should be a DH. He is a terrible fielder. Anyone who is being paid that kind of money should be a complete player. It bothers me to see a guy being paid the kind of money he is to play baseball, and he can't even throw the ball in from left field. He just kind of slings it. If he is dogging it after the holding out for a $45 million dollar contract, shame on him, and shame on the Dogers for letting that happen. For even half that amount of money, he should be the first one at the clubhouse every day, (hopefully to improve his fielding).

But from your question I'm guessing he's some kind of "professional athlete". And clowns like him are the reason I haven't paid any attention to professional sports -- other than golf, the only sport in which most of them behave like PROFESSIONALS -- for nearly 30 years now.

So my real answer is: I COULDN'T CARE LESS!

As a player during the season I doin't see a slacker. I must assume he is needing the "tool" rest. Or at least a key to the notion about Rick Monday's comment that most big players like to negotiate a little longer so they'll not have quite as much Spring Training. No MR really must have a problem to be away from ST this long.

I used to love Manny when he played for the Tribe. He's his own person that's for sure. He was seldom hurt when he played for Cleveland. Unless he's turned into a cry baby (as many of them do as time goes on) I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. As they say "It's just Manny being Manny." lol

Hey Buddy - Good question. He is the Jeremey Shockey of Baseball. The Red Sox dumped him because of his work ethic. Being from the Bronx (him, not me) I swore he'd go to the Yankees. He should be grateful the Dodgers picked him up and are paying him the big bucks. But, buyer beware, Manny being Manny. If he'd just get serious again.
