Is Lance Armstrong Innocent?

Cycling legend and seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong has long denied charges of using performance-enhancing drugs, specifically blood doping. Even with a number of his old teammates failing drug tests and claiming otherwise to the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, Armstrong has still denied. Unfortunately for the cancer survivor and inspirational leader of the 'Livestrong' movement, perception is reality and either this is a witch hunt -- or enough smoke to explore the fire.

"I have never doped, and, unlike many of my accusers, I have competed as an endurance athlete for 25 years with no spike in performance, passed more than 500 drug tests and never failed one,” Armstrong said via a statement on his official website. “That USADA ignores this fundamental distinction and charges me instead of the admitted dopers says far more about USADA, its lack of fairness and this vendetta than it does about my guilt or innocence.”

Armstrong is charged with taking testosterone and participating in blood doping, but he can stand trial and defend himself against those allegations. Yet if he loses, he will be stripped of all seven of his Tour de Frances titles and could even be subject to a government investigation, much like baseball legend Roger Clemens is. Not to mention the fact that if found guilty, it would break the hearts of hundreds of thousands of fans who supported him. This is only just the beginning though, so stay tuned. Do you think Lance Armstrong is innocent?

People just can't accept that he won 7 times. It's a record yes, but I believe he's just that good.

he has taken over 500 drug tests in his career, he has passed, he has been drained of blood and forced to piss in a cup enough times to fill a small pool, GIVE it up already, geez, he isn't cheating and these witch hunts to appease the lesser well prepared are ridiculous.

How about all of his detractors spend as much time and effort training, taking the correct nutrition in and focusing, rather then wasting their energy on this witch hunt,.

I'm pretty sure he did the blood doping thing, it wasn't considered illegal or even unethical to donate blood weeks before a race, pump it full of oxygen, then add it back shortly before the race until recently as far as I know.

If it was not illegal then where exactly is the problem?

I think it is now, but this guy has been doing this 20+ years, I don't see it being a big deal. Sports is 99% about cheating, from the dads that lie about the number of pitches their 9 year old little league son pitched, through the NFL, it's is way more about win at any cost, than being good sports.

Ok....and all that has not a thing to do with what was legal then and not now! Point is if it was not at the time it's just not! Very simple really! If it is now then don't do it!

They readliy admit that he passed their tests 500 times, their tests, not his tests, he passed, passed, passed, passed 500 times over his career, and now they want to go back and say he didn't pass?

If he wasn't taking performance drugs or supplements, then he was the ONLY one not doing it.

Honestly, do you know every Tour cyclist? Broad generalizations are never a good answer to any question, just sayin.
