Is Julianne Hough's Video Too Sexy for TV?

Country singer and professional ballroom dancer Julianne Hough released a new video last week for her song entitled "Is That So Wrong," and CMT had an immediate answer for her:

Yes it is.

The music video has been officially banned from CMT for sexual content, though it's hardly as revealing as a Lady Gaga video.

In the video, Hough dances erotically around her room in short shorts and a T-shirt, sprawling herself out on beds and sofas. At one point she strips down to her underwear, but never threatens to take it any further than that.

The Washington Post reports that the 22-year-old bit back at CMT's ban at a Baltimore performance, saying, "This next song -- funny story. I shot a music video for it ... and [CMT] kind of banned it. Apparently I was taking off too many clothes as I was dancing across my bedroom. But I don't know -- I kind of liked it."

Is her video too sexy for TV, or should CMT let it slide?

There are way worse videos out there, like the Lady Gaga one mentioned. A bra is no less revealing than a bikini. I don't see what the big deal is really, nothing we haven't seen before and it's on tv, so you can just change channel if you don't want your kids to watch it. Why cancel this video when Miley and that chick from gossip girl do way worse stuff on stage in front of a live and younger audience?

Asking Julianne Hough to not be sexy would be like asking the sun to not be hot. The video is mild compared to some other stuff I've seen.

Are you kidding me!!! Has anyone seen the queens of slut Britney and Lady Gaga videos??? Julianne song is about not feeling bad about wanting to kick it with that very hot guy at the end of the video. She knew he was coming and she just had to sing about how she was going to get her some. Hell I have,,I just didn't sound that good. LOL

that is so true,,I don't know her but I'm willing to pick up her CD,,I thought that song was so cute, funny and something we ladies think about. She is pretty and she truly works it in this video, I loved it and will buy it now. CMT needs to get over it, maybe MTV or VH1 should pick up the song.

The song lyrics seem to refer to her contemplating making a "booty call"But there's nothing in that video that's even close to an ad for Victoria's Secret! I think she should send them a thank you note for the free publicity!

I'm surprized, that was kinda sexy. I mean, she didn't show anything and did all the typical music video moves, but she did show a little leg.

The only problem with "sexy" is that old women are offended by seeing girl's navels. There are some outdated feminist notions about women showing off, but even Gloria Steinem eventually got a grip.

CMT needs to consider the fact that her dancing is what made her famous so quick. You can ad inuendo to any movements but I think she is multi talented and gorgeous. She is wonderful to watch and listen to. It must be the old maid modern day Marjorie Mains that are objecting or it's a publicity stunt. I have enjoyed her on Dancing With The Stars and hope to see more of her in the future. I have seen much more offensive displays on the soaps and in the movies. Leave her alone.

To the contrary. This is very empowering to women.

She's using her God-given sexuality in an extremely classy and artistic way. Very talented singer and dancer, too (some of those dance steps reminded me of ballet)... she's remarkably ethereal.

Only the Taliban would believe there is anything at all inappropriate about this video.

These young performers, including the little child, Miley Cyrus, must really be insecure with their talent that they see a need to bring sexy, provocative videos into their music. Hats off to Taylor Swift, who is a true role model for young girls.

This video isn't any worse than other programs on tv nowadays. She is sexy enough to pull it off, wh censor what she pus in her video? I think CMT should allow it.
