Is Johnny Depp 'Cheating' on Tim Burton With Wes Anderson?

Johnny Depp will pair up with "The Royal Tenenbaums" director Wes Anderson for his next movie, said to be called "The Grand Budapest Hotel," The Hollywood Reporter confirms. And it sounds a bit like cheating with his favorite Hollywood director, Tim Burton, to us!

depp

Depp's latest movie, next year's "The Lone Ranger," reportedly delighted fans at Comic-Con. However, his last movie, "Dark Shadows," by director Tim Burton, was a box-office disappointment.

Depp has starred in many Burton movies over the years, including "Ed Wood," "Sleepy Hollow," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "Corpse Bride," "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" and "Alice in Wonderland." So, we have to wonder: Is the A-list actor ditching Burton for Anderson... who just so happens to have a hit right now with "Moonrise Kingdom"?

What are they...married? It's a job!! I'd get sick of working with the same director all the time. I hope Tim Burton isn't that much of a bitch.

He is an actor starring in movies is his job he can't only be in Tim Burton films. Go to IMDB and see all the movies he has been in and see how many different actors he has worked with. You don't see people freaking out cause Burton made a movie (Abe Lincoln Vamp Hunter for example) with out Depp.

Johnny Depp would have been considered a cheater when he did any other movie then too. (you know like the movies 1984 classic horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street,Vietnamese-speaking private in Oliver Stone's Platoon, 1998's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Pirated of The Caribean Movies(which btw was very obviously after he met Tim Burton in case you want to say that), The Secret Window(I think thats what it was called, he was a crazy writed with dual personalities).... Etc.

You know...Actors can't work with the same director OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Just because Burton is his favorite doesn't mean he can't spread his branches to other directors.

I'm sure Depp isn't working with Burton purely for the success, Depp will be in yet another one of Burton's movies more than likely. Besides I think that Depp can work with other directors without being accused of cheating...

Even though actors work so well with one director, it's best for actors to work with other directors to help keep that artistic mind turning.

Burton has made films with others. It is great they work well together but I am sure they have no problem with freedom of expression while working with others.

Poor Tim Burton! What a thoroughly rotton childhood this man must have had. I mean, come on...Look at "Edward Scissorhands" and you'll see a little Tim Burton being played by Johnny Depp. This tortured little soul was handy with knives and sharp objects; and he could see beauty where others could not. However, he was ostrascized by a cruel Christian suburban society. Thus he sought refuge in his stories. So as the boy grew into a man named Tim, the director sought out an outcast actor (similar to himself) to play his roles in his movies. Isn't it sadly obvious? Tim's living his childhood through Johnny Depp...and Johnny has decided to move on. How sad and sickening. Lol.

Man! I didn't get one single rave off of this comment. I thought I had Tim Burton and Johnny Depp pegged pretty good; maybe I'm just reading waaaaaaay too much into the question. That happens a lot with me... :-(

Sometimes working with one director's vision(s) can limit your individual artistic expression. Depp is definately one of my favorite actors.

Grrr, I clicked the wrong one.... anywho, just because he's working with someone else doesn't mean he ditched Burton, it just means he found an interesting project with another director. I doubt he would break up with Burton.

Johnny Depp brings great caracters to the screen , I would love to see him portray "Johnny Appleseed " traveling on barefeet and ragged overalls across America casting his appleseeds to grow into strong healthy fruit trees and bring pleasure to the hard working people who lived in that simple time of being self sufficient .
