Is it just me...or do you not like where True Blood has taken Eric's character?

They are not staying close enough to the books for me. Also, they are making it geared more for the Gay audience, instead of all of us.

I don't know cuz I don't waste my time watching it.

On the contrary, I prefer much more the TV serie. First, the books are the Sookie´s hagiography, a character I dislike completely: a silly hick, completely selfish and intolerant, who never does anything to understand the different mentality and nature of vampires. And she makes a a fuss for the mandatory infidelity of Bill, while she "plays" with Alcide! She is the novels only center, but, in the serie, where she is insupportable too,the plot is divided in much more lines, is more complex, many interesting roles are more developed and the inside vampire world is showed in a deeper way. And Eric´s role(excellent actor, Alexander Skargard...and what a man, wow!) has got very much space to his own passionate story with a cool, intelligent and attractive character. God bless HBO...and Alexander / Eric!

i never really seen true blood.

I do not get to see the episodes but borrow the dvds at the end of a season. I have read all of the Charlaine Harris books the series in built on.

Although Season 4 is not out in England as of yet but judging of what Eric gets up to later by reading the book its defintely worth keep watching

I actually like how its going. I read the books and am watching the series and I see them as two different things so I get to enjoi both. They both are awesome in my opinion. I find Eric cute when he loses his memory haha

This brainwipe IS where the books take him and I am enjoying that they are finally following something from the books. If you're going to allow yourslef to enjoy the series al all you have to lose the attchment to the books.... HB0 violated that almost instantly. They have taken their own inspiration from the books and are off on a different ride with it. I loved the books and once I got over stretching the book's little maenad blip into a far too long immersion into very sick and gratuitous depravity, have enjoyed the totally new creation the show makes from the books. It is inspired by the books and their characters.... good entertainment. Quit compaaring so you can sit back and enjoy this cousin of Miss Harris' work. It's fun.... if you let it be.

I luv watching True Blood it's fun to watch just to see what happens next. It is a little strange what they have done with Eric's character, but I'm going to reserve my thoughts until later to see where it goes. So I say be patient for new and lets see what happens...... lol

Yea, me too. Plus, it sounds like I need to revisit the books because I'm forgetting this memory loss thing. So I thought it was lame in the TV series. But I didn't think anything was lame in the books. Sounds like my memory has failed me on this one.

Dark shadows is an infant version of the vampire genre and there's no comparison.

The story . . . in this particular instance only is (almost) true to the book. In the book, Eric is found completely naked (and I for one am disappointed that he was found with pants on!) and Sookie and Eric develop a very intense bond.

I think for once, Eric is almost "cute" and this episode only proves what an amazing actor he is. As a side note, I am Norwegian, and to hear him speak the language of my grandparent's is so unbelieveably hot!

I don't remember that in the books! LOL I remember the intense bond but that's about it. I need to re-read the books.

I can't speak norwegian, but it's still hot how fluent it feels. I also am impressed with how well he plays it. He is a very talented actor doing great work. As I think on it... this show is loaded with excellent actors doing great work.

I don't know True Blood. Is it a monster flick? I don't like Werewolf ore Vampire stories the are just too over played.

In general, I feel this season is very weak.

Actually though, I don't think Eric's storyline is the worst. I'm cautiously optimistic that it will go somewhere interesting.
