Is dustep/techno the new rap?

Whereas a lot of pop/top 40 songs of not too long ago have a rap verse or two in them as a highlight, do you think that the music of today has a techno/dubstep highlight of the song that has essentially replaced the rap verse?

That is why a lot of the new songs are simply not worth listening to, for more than a few bars. 15 seconds is enough abuse to make the decision not to buy that band's music ever again.
