Is Country music depressing?

I love some of it, but nowadays it depresses me & I feel heartbroken when I listen to it even though I have no reason to be heartbroken. There's a couple of songs that are upbeat that ain't depressing, but most of them are love songs & why?

certain artists in country are really good at portraying the hurt and depression that they go through, but others are just there to have make good country music

I love country music... and Sometimes it can be depressing, but other times it can be uplifting... just like most other music genres.

Country artist write about real life, and life can be depressing sometimes. But they do have a lot of uplifting songs that make you want to grap a ice cold beer, lay out in the sun, and forget about life(:

Sometimes I just don't care about the fact that your wife left you/ your dog died/ your truck broke down on a lonely road/ your daughter grew up and helped raise and left you for L.A./ etc.......

Sing something uplifting for once....

I much rather hear someone with a guitar who can actually sing perform songs about real life, instead a bunch of people who cannot sing without the use of technology, most of the time its just a battle of who can say the most outrageous things and get away with it. I chose country music anyday!

If it's any damn good it should be depressing.....or at least a little frightening. Anybody can write a tune about hitting the clubs and line dancing like a fool.....it's easy to connect with a catchy beat. However, when a wizard can right about something terrible that happened to them, or a loss they experienced and make you feel for them....that's called good song writing.....speaking of good songwriters......and country music.......

Studies have shown that it is in fact depressing and that people who listen to country music are the most likely to commit suicide than any other music genre.
