Is Aaron Rodgers NFL's MVP?

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is a reigning Super Bowl champion and Super Bowl Most Valuable Player. He is also a former Pro Bowler and this season, he can add the NFL MVP award to his mantle. Rodgers and his teams are having a spectacular first half of the football season, currently undefeated and sitting atop the NFC North division.

With a win over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, the Packers improved to 8-0. Last season, Rodgers had 28 touchdown passes--just two shy of his career high. Through eight games in 2011, Rodgers already has 24 touchdown passes and could easily eclipse his previous career high in the last eight games of the season. In 37 attempts, Rodgers has 127 rushing yards as well, showing fans and opposing teams that if he needs to, he can run--and run well.

It is safe to say the Packers are definitely not suffering a sophomore slump, following last season's Super Bowl victory. The team from top to bottom is incredibly talented, but none may be more valuable than Rodgers. "I have to give a lot of credit to our fans the way they travel," Rodgers said about the Green Bay faithful, following the win over San Diego. "It says a lot about the kind of fans we have." Rodgers could win a lot more fans, awards, and games with the way he has been playing lately.

It is either him or Peyton Manning. And Peyton has a good case, because look how much the Colts suck without him. He could be the first MVP to win without taking a snap.

The way he's playing and leading his team, he is certainly set apart from the other's.

a rookie with insane stats on a losing team no, No doubt he's rookie of the year, but stats should only mean so much when it goes to MVP voting.

Now say if Carolina went 0-16, and then drafted Newton, had the season he's having and the Panthers finished 8-8 then maybe.

ADRIAN PETERSON!!! He leads the league in rushing with one of the lousiest teams in the NFL and STILL leads above the rest! Rodgers, although very good, has a fantastic offense to help him.

Last time I checked, the QB does not run the ball, he throws it. Rodgers has blown this guy out of the water with his completion rating and his passer rating! He also runs if he sees he has a chance to get that 1st down or the touchdown (as seen in an earlier game this year for 2 touchdowns!)

vote for him then. Fran Tarkington was one of the best running QB's ever. Of course they run.

I did vote for him, and yes I know they run but the main thing a QB does is hand the ball off to someone else. Rodgers is by far the greatest at this than anyone else!

If the voting was now, yes. There is still half a season to be played, though and a lot can happen in that time frame. Here's hoping nothing changes!

Not sure. He is blowing all the other QBs out of the water on his rating. The thing is GB has an absolutely pathetic running game. Apparently they don't need one. Isn't he the top rusher too on GB?

I kinda like Brees. Anyway still a few more game until it is decided. Heck if Miami can win a game then who knows.

Dudes completing 70%+ without that running game. They know he's throwing but they just can't stop it. Craziest hot streak I've ever seen out of a QB.

That's true. He must have one heck of a line or all those backs are blocking mofos.

Yup. I am pleasantly surprised. The good thing Dalton is get pummeled every play. The line is doing a great job. I am still a Carson fan. Now that he gets TJ in Oakland hopefully they can work some magic there.

Not in the slightest! Rodgers would ANNIHILATE Peyton! -_- How many interceptions has Peyton thrown? Quite a few, right? Rodgers? 0 Do I have to mention the fact that Rodgers has a 70+% completion rating? Peyton is probably lucky to have a 50% completion rating! Peyton sucks and Rodgers is MVP, get oer it ;)
