The body is not even cold yet and Hollywood is buzzing about a possible Chris Dorner movie. Dorner is the ex-cop that went on a shooting spree after posting a manifesto naming all of the policemen he intended to kill.

His written words explained that he wanted retaliation for being let go from the LAPD. He claims he was relieved of his duties because he was ratting out cops who used excessive force. Now, he wanted revenge.

chris dorner

His rampage resulted in four deaths, numerous injuries and a week-long manhunt that left scores of people traumatized. Within days of Dorner’s demise, Hollywood is buzzing about a Dorner film. Billy Bob Thornton told TMZ they should call the film “Manifesto.”

Anthony Anderson from “Guys with Kids” said he’d love to get his hands on a script for the Dorner story, stating, “I’m always up for a good role.” But isn’t it a little too soon to be profiting from this horrible tragedy? People are suffering and mourning. Maybe a little distance is needed. What do you think? Is a Chris Dorner movie appropriate?

The police murdered Dorner, then they destroyed the place in which he was staying, effectively destroying all evidence he has amassed about the corruption and killing the only witness. They set the place on fire and when he tried to come out they opened fire forcing him back inside the burning building.

Police: "We're going to go forward with the plan.. with the burn ........ like we talked about."

    26 seconds later

Police: "Seven burners deployed... and we have a fire."

    Police: “f$#@$ burn this motherfu@$@#$ house down. … fu%@@#$ burn this motherf%$^#@@.”

I have seen no evidence connecting Dorner to the daughter and fiance other than the manifesto that claims he will go after family that has been altered time and time again. Everyone we KNOW Dorner came in contact with, he tied up and did not harm. Police are responsible for more citizens getting shot than Dorner. No other killer has a hit ordered on him, why Dorner? Military drones and a million dollar bounty. Due Process is lost if not for everyone.

I would love a movie depicting this and showing the police so determined to silence him that they shoot innocent people in the process.

The movie title should be "Silenced"

The Movie would be great. It will be great to see Hollywood and the LAPD make a movie about discrimination, corruption and politics. Finding the actor to play the part will be very hard. Celebrities like Anthony Anderson could play the role but finding someone new to introduce to Hollywood that looks like Chris AND COMES FROM HIS DEMOGRAPHIC COULD OFFER HOLLYWOOD A CLOSER LOOK IN THE MIND OF CHRIS DORNER'S AUDIENCE.

I think a documentary that digs for the truth might be important since I heard that the cops set the fire which if true they are lucky that they did not cause a wildfire.

Sure it is. Any means to highlight the realities of police corruption is justified.
To all those people who talk about the innocent loss of life because of his actions, what about the civilian casualties of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars sanctioned by US presidents? They weren't any more guilty than any of us.
Like it or not, sometimes the innocent have to suffer for the guilty.
Chris fought fire with fire and that should be the name of the movie.

Everybody just watched it, so what would be the purpose. Hollywood is getting (or has gotten) very lazy.

Not unless the proceeds go towards compensating the families of the four
people who he murdered, the two people who he injured, and those people
whose property that he left in ruins.

We deserve the full story. I just hope they choose several writers from different parties and perspectives to make sure the story is truthfully told.

No, but there's no point in talking the Hollywood gallery down from the idea. They'll run with the idea, whether it's appropriate or not. Oh yes can see it now: some movie executive out there is mulling the idea of casting Denzel Washington in the starring role.

It is sad when someone kills other people because of your job, I believe chris could of handle this better than what he did. The question is why did he feel this way?

I answered yes simply because I think there is a story behind the story which might be worthy to expose. I think the man was burned intentionally and it certainly seems that he had reasons for doing what he did.... NOT that it was the best way to approach the situation.
A movie about this would certainly have more possibilities than the one they are proposing about the CT shooting which is totally nuts!!!!!

READ what I said: "NOT that it was the best way..."
I did not say he had the right to kill people.... but his reasons for his frustrations may have been justified an extreme reaction.

This is still america right??? You as far as I am concerned can make a film about anything you see fit to...they've made films about Bundy, Gacy, ED Gein and so on don't see this as being much different as far as movies go

How would it be is more the question. I dont see how. Who would want to see that? I sure wouldnt. He's dead. Leave it at that. Dont make a movie. Thatd just be a waste of time and money. And given that its a true story dosent matter here at all whatsoever. Doesnt mean you just go make a movie about it.

This is one more tragic story where there was needless bloodshed. Who knows why Dorner became a killer of civilians after being trained as a military killer. The man was troubled and we will probably never know the complete story behind his breakdown. Some things don't need to be made into a movie unless it'S a documentary with extensive research on the subject.

No, not at all. "Not appropriate" is not really the way I feel about it. Its not like I think they are being disrespectful or "the body is not even cold yet". So what? Its that this guy was no hero and was not even an exceptional bad guy. Just weak and selfish and not a little bit nuts.

Sure...they could do a movie... As long as they include what ASSES the POLICE were by shooting up and riddling with bullets ANY "blue-ish" truck, shooting and injuring INNOCENT people, before even verifying make, model of vehicle and/or occupant(s) of the vehicles! But of course, if the movie were to include THIS reality, it would turn into a Rambo-like flick where you're *rooting* for the criminal and NOT the Police. I personally was NOT on the Police's side. If/when they get shot, there's usually a good reason!
