Just a day before what would have been Tupac Shakur's 40th birthday, Dexter Isaac, a man serving a life sentence for murder and robbery, has reportedly told AllHipHop.com that he is responsible for the death of the rap legend.

Isaac claims that James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemond, who is already on the run from police, paid him $2,500 to shoot Tupac in 1994.

"I want to apologize to his family [Tupac Shakur] and for the mistake I did for that sucker [Jimmy Henchman]," Dexter Isaac told AllHipHop.com from prison. "I am trying to clean it up to give [Tupac and Biggie's] mothers some closure."

Admitting to Tupac's murder is nothing short of a death wish, but we're still skeptical about the news since the case has been surrounded by so much controversy.

You are a little out of touch. LOTS of people want to know who killed him and who was behind it.

I don't get why. Please share with me why you care. One sleazeball killing another. So what.

Even after his death Tupac has a huge following. Many people want to know who really killed him. His death at such a young age shocked and effected some people much in the same way that Diana's early death effected others. I did not say that I was one of them. But people DO care, and to state that they do not is naive. As to your "sleazeball" comment, making it implies that you think the crime of murder should be ignored if the victim doesn't measure up to some standard. That, of course is ludicrous. Who gets to judge?
  • Rod Gimmedap 2011/06/17 14:27:44

Obviously some one judges, that's why we have prisons full of criminals. If the murderer of Tupac were to be discovered, how would that change anything? If Stalin had killed Hitler would I have cared... absolutely not. Also, what does his age have to do with anything? and just because someone seems to have a huge following doesn't make him a good guy.

The crime of murder, no matter the victims position in life, is a very important matter. The point that I'm trying to make is that at this juncture why is this so important. The man who made the claim is in prison for crying out loud. Would it help people get over Tupac's death. How does this benefit anyone? I'm not doing a very good job of explaining my position on this subject. Please help me to understand.

He did not claim responsibility for Tupac's death, read what he said:
"A convicted murderer, long suspected of involvement in the 1994 Quad Studios shooting of Tupac Shakur, has finally admitted to committing the crime, and has accused Game's manager, Jimmy "Henchmen" Rosemond -- founder of Czar Entertainment -- of masterminding the botched robbery, which left the legendary rapper shot five times.

"In 1994, James Rosemond hired me to rob 2Pac Shakur at the Quad Studio," said Isaac, who is currently housed in Brooklyn, N.Y.'s Metropolitan Detention Center. "He gave me $2,500, plus all the jewelry I took, except for one ring, which he wanted for himself. It was the biggest of the two diamond rings that we took. He said he wanted to put the stone in a new setting for his girlfriend at the time, Cynthia Ried. I still have as proof the chain that we took that night in the robbery."

While Tupac survived the shooting, which took place on November 30, 1994, in Manhattan's Quad Recording Studios, and left him shot twice in the head, the incident directly instigated the deadly East Coast-West Cost rap feud, which resulted in the shooting deaths of both Tupac and his East Coast rival Biggie Smalls."

people do not read they forgot how to and when they do they come to there own conclusion because most things in this age are riddled with lies!
don't blame them blame the media the architect of destruction bought and sold by our own desires for power over truth!

No one really cares at this point. Tupac was likely a murder for hire rather an attempt to rob. Probably in-fighting amoung drug dealers and drug dealing rappers. Among minorities, these are "throw-away" people.

I'm pretty sure he said "among minorites" meaning "of this/ that minority the drug dealers/ drug dealing rappers are away people...meaning their bosses and suppliers use them as "throw away people". Could be wrong.

He'll get attention, but not the good kind. I'm not sure why anyone would want that so it sounds plausible to me but I truly don't know enough about any of it to make a firm decision yet.
  • BlackSouth EdWhite... 2011/06/16 15:22:41

None of what he says sound plausible. It sounds ridiculous. Many people don't understand that even though it is wrong to deal drugs it's a fact of life here in America and it is not limited to any minority although it is more prevalent in those demographics. I say this because I am a "minority" Tupac and Biggie did what they felt they had to do to survive until better times. I don't think any one of them continued in the dope game especially after the royalty checks started coming in. For what reason? Some people resort to dealing drugs because there are no jobs, but that doesn't stop the bills from coming in or them trying to keep a roof over their head or feeding their children. It is not right, nor do I condone it, but it happens. If there wasn't such a demand for illegal drugs in America then it wouldn't be a problem.

I'm still not sure any of what you said changes anything of what I said.

Yes, its a shame about drugs.
Yes, its a fact of life in some communities. I came from one of those communities and know those in the game (Chelsea MA, look it up).
No, I don't think once in the game getting a ton of 'easy' cash and living a certain lifestyle you simply stop because you have enough cash. If that were true, no drug dealer would continue after his first $250k, right? Yet even with millions in the closet, they continue. Its making more and more, the crowd(s) you run with, the juice and the lifestyle. I'm not saying Tupac and Biggie were in the drug trade, and I'm not sure you can say Biggie or Tupac would have quit once they were making legit money if they were.

Just on the face of it, the admission or confession makes no sense if it isn't based on fact. The inmate will get nothing for it, make enemies and probably get a beating or get killed, and ... for what? So he can say he was the killer of a rapper a decade ago?

Defeatist mentality is to say " it doesn't matter" when it comes to a murderer.
No one believes in organized crime until you talk about tupac or biggie.
If you don't care, why did you comment????
If he did it, then people need closure.
If he didn't do it, then well.... people need closure and there is still a killer on the loose.
