In the movie and in the play, "Agnes Of God," a nun (Sister Agnes) is impregnated with no carnal knowledge of what has happened. The Mother Superior vouches that no men were allowed near her because Sister Agnes was cloistered. What's the explanation?

The viewer is left to decide if the pregnancy w...a little of a couple of them really. agnes was of a childlike mind. i do believe agnes was raped but i don't think she understood what was going on because of her mind frame. I believe the mother superior didn't want it tampered with and because of that she found the psychiatrist as a threat because in her eyes she was drudging things up. i think someone took advantage of agnes and i think the mother superior simply wanted to cooers to forget about that and in time about the baby in the wastebasket. its a great movie but i think of it as a mystery, everyone has their own idea of what happened. I'm a christian and a firm believer in stigmatics but i believe only one child born on this earth until the end of days was born by immaculate conception and though it is just a movie that factor adds to my conclusion of the movie.
