This cold is realy a bad one and I've been pushing my cat away some slightly to prevent her from catching my bad cold. Should I truly be worried about that?

Their immune systems are different than ours, enough to keep them and you safe..you won't come down with feline leukemia, either!

PS-this isn't just me, my sis is a Vet.

Shouldn't be, because cats don't get human ailments, (except rabies, which isn't often at all, thank God!)

Most viruses are specific to one species; there's only a few that cross back and forth between cats/humans. If your cat is healthy then her immune systerm should be working well. My cats love it when I'm sick; they get to lie around in bed with me all day.

because they are cats and are subject to different germs. I am more concerned that lily rolls in the dirt outside and then comes in gets on my bed, pulls back the blanket and lays on the sheet. I'm like wtf when i get in bed that night and end up changing sheets. she is damn lucky that she's so cute and that I love her so much. Toonight she just knocked over my shot of tequila all over the desk and me. I smell like a brewery. arrrrgh

Humans and cats only share their cold viruses among their own species - there is no inter-species contagion.

The Human Cold does not affect the feline biology and if your kitty has a cold there's no way you'd get it either. :)

Thanks for that. I needed to know because the last thing I want to do is be the cause for my cat getting sick.

Thanks! I would just be completely upset if she did catch a cold from me. I'm glad I asked the question.
