I'd rather go on a long bike ride, as I sometimes do on my day off from work. The San Francisco Bay Area has such a nice climate that it would be natural to want to go outside. There are many outdoor facilities within my biking area, including Baker Beach in San Francisco, Big Basin State Park near Boulder Creek, Stevens Creek Trail in Mountain View (part of my commuting route), Christmas Hill Park in Gilroy (Garlic Festival), Lake Merritt in Oakland, some beaches in Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz, also some bike trails in San Jose. There are very few TV programs I enjoy, and most of them are on when I'm at work or otherwise away.

When I was a kid, TV stunk, except for Saturday morning. Had to watch Howdy Doody, but only if we weren't playing ball or some other kid stuff. Later, as a teen, American Bandstand was good, came on after school. You could hear the cool songs and watch the girls. But I didn't watch it every day, prefering to hang out with pals, listen to records and smoke cigarettes. I watch some TV now, but all the commercials are aggravating.

Live life to it's fullest, enjoy the outdoors, find something to do, it's not like you are in prison and cannot come and go as you please. Did you know that there is a plane or bus or train waiting to take you any where in this whole wide world---go for it--enjoy--even if it is only for the weekend--do it--have fun-- be spontaneous--make memories--you'll be glad you did!!!!!!!

When I was growing up, I couldnt stand being inside and couldnt wait to get and get dirty playing football or swimming in the creek. A lot of folks want to blame mcdonalds and the like for the obesity epidemic but i believe the internet and tv are more likely the culprit.
