Anything is possible. But, I sure hope they don't try. I already have a grandson that wants a baby t-rex. He thinks they're cool.

complex mammals came about because dinos went extinct, if they managed to get out after being made, the havoc they could cause to our ecosystem would be unimaginable

They are already playing with DNA from architectural sites. The Jurassic Park series was a warning. They are growing flowers from some of these sites.

Unless it was a specific creature that would improve or repair an ecological imbalance or a creature on the "verge of extinction" due to the encroachment of man or its mishaps...(Oil spills etc).

Nature works through a delicate series of checks and balances. When something happens in the natural world, it happens for a reason. For whatever reason, Nature decided the dinosaurs' time to rule was over. It is not up to us to go against Her judgement. If we bring back extinct animals, we are ravaging the balance of the world. If you ask me, if something is dead, it's supposed to be dead, for some reason or another.

It might be an interesting experiment on a small scale, but our current biosphere would not be able to support them on a large scale. They were once a very successful branch that only succumbed because of a freak accident. Best not to tempt fate.

There is a reason that dinos and humans do not cohabitate on the same planet. Some of them are carnivors. We would be low on the food chain

It would not be ethical to generate a small population of any species back from extinction. Without significant numbers to bolster the kind of genetic diversity essential for large populations to thrive, you'll only relegate it's population to the bad genetic side effects normally associated with a shallow gene pool and the inevitable inbreeding that would result.

Tempting b/c I love the reptiles but no, they had their time on this planet and it's over. If we made them reappear there would be to many problems. Their bodies aren't made to adapt to the way the world is now, they would just suffer.
