If someone penned a poem about your baby would you appreciate their thoughts, never bring it up ever, or toss in the garbage can?

My cherub is in my thoughts all day,
especially when I go to pray,
that God will keep his tiny ears closed to ugliness, cursing and violence posed.
His twenty-one months on earth is short,
he's learning his world is mostly sport.
Pushing himself to do all those things that having a big, baby boy brings.
He is running now to play and tease,
he's trying to say, 'thank you' and 'please'.
Sucking his thumb, hard habit to break but, he'll stop it for some kind of cake.
He's quick to grin and giggle too,
not always doing what he's told to do!
It's forever playtime, naps are bad; this sweet little boy is rarely mad.
Good-natured, healthy and studies all,
He never cries when he'll trip and fall,
He understands what we say to him, but prefers to grunt and point his whim!
Playing with small toys that were his Dad's.
He has all the latest, newest fads.
Loves to play with boxes and bags . . .
or 'oohs and ahhs' the nearest mag.
Adam's love is pure and kisses sweet,
time spent with him is a special treat.
He's quick to learn, many times over . . .
Angels nearby silently hover.
His Love far exceeds the love we know,
By loving Him true, we plant and grow.
Sow the seeds of forgiveness and love, Adam's rewards from his God above.
Happy, healthy, . . . heaven will favor, this child the knowledge of his Savior.
He'll grow to treat all folks with respect,
even those close, whose life's a wreck.
He'll know his Christ can ease their load and point to Scripture that tells of Job.
This man-child is from the Most High God, to which he will Pray and Praise and Laud.
My precious cherub is God's Child first.
We love him so much our hearts could burst.
Fix his parents, Jesus, so they'll know, that what they each reap is what they sow.
He's worth all Solomon's gold and jewels,
Keep Adam safe from vipers and fools.
May his small spirit discern the bad
dynamics, . . . that would make him sad.
Whisper Your wisdoms into his ear;
make Your knowledge in him clear.
Allow him to talk with special speech,
Presence within his young body's reach.
We know in our heart, You've a grand plan,
First one being a good Christian man.
Trusting his God no matter the cause,
Knowing this Adam obeys His Laws.
He will sin, fall back, but get straight up,
Bow his head when church passes The Cup,
Will cheerfully give money to God,
Now on Paw-Paw for a wink and nod.
Give us the tools to love Adam more.
Well always affirm his 'Jesus-core'
He'll be that student, soldier and son
that Jesus died for, our saved grandson.
My question is, what's wrong with my DIL?
especially when I go to pray,
that God will keep his tiny ears closed to ugliness, cursing and violence posed.

This was scratched out 5/23/12, while waiting on my Gold Card application. Adam was in the car under a shade tree waiting with Paw-Paw and these verses just spilled into
my spirit.
Went to see my son in rehab (5/27/12) and included a copy of this poem for him to read private. Gave Adam's mother a copy on the 24th and I have not heard ONE word from her. Yeah, I guess it does hurt my feelings a little bit and probably shouldn't.
But I'm only a human gran-Mo and I wonder why she hasn't acknowledged it. When I spoke to my son about it, he said it was good and, ya know,(silence . . .) I asked, what hun, you love me?" He goes, "yeah, but that's not it." Then I knew and I tenderly
asked him if it made him cry.
He replied softly, "Yes, Mom, it did." My spirit soared the rest of the night.
My question is, what's wrong with my DIL?
