If SodaHead were to add an extra category, but they only were going to add one more, out of the possible categories, which one would you like added?

I tried to figure out categories that didn't tie in with the categories already there, but it might be a good idea to expand a category that is pretty general such as Living. I wanted to ask this since if there was a category you wished got added to SodaHead if you were tired of the same old eight categories or you had a question or poll that didn't fit anywhere close to the categories already there...(I know I have, like this question.)

If you were to pick only one category to be added, which one would you want?

There are a lot of religious polls and discussions here. It doesn't really fall under any of the existing topics.

The Political Loaded Question Category, specifically designed for people who have no intention of engaging in a serious discussion, just in venting their own political rave. Questions that start out like "Since the Kenyan born Obama wants to destroy America..." or "Because Mitt Romney clearly hates all poor people..." would automatically be put in this category.

    don t confuse me

Food and drink would be cool I have seen enough questions relating to it already to warrant having it's own category.

U-dog has a good point too RELIGION so that people that want to battle it out over that can go there.

Since there is not a category for and you can only have one, it might be worded to include everything technologically oriented as ONE of these (though it appears there is not much room for it in the header, maybe to be redone?)

    "Earth, Science and Technology"

    "Scientific Studies"

    "Technological interests"

    "Science & Technology"

Where related topics would be included, such as:
Space, Earth, Environment, Computers, Electronics, Internet, Mathematics, Science.

As I look at them, maybe you want to rework the categories? Could "Games" be included in "Fun and Humor" or be "Amusement" and "Music" within "Entertainment" for instance? Does Fashion need to be on its own? I don't know, there would still be eight or maybe you would still create a ninth.. (maybe "Education", but I don't think there would be enough topics for) - just some suggestions:

    Entertainment / Music
    Humanity / Relationships
Home & Style - (would include Cooking, Food, Decorating, Fashion,Tips, DIY)
Amusement - (Humor, Games, Trivia, Absurdity)
    Sports / Outdoor Life
    News and Politics
Earth and Astronomy - (would include "Environment")
Science and Technology - (would include Computers, Internet)

Hah.. the problem with that is, that they would invariably infiltrate into other areas.. you KNOW they would and they're not going to "battle" with their own, only with the opposition. I've seen that on other sites, too.. (and "regular people?" .. I know what you mean, but.. just sounds funny).

Most of the stuff you named seems to simple go under the title of "Science" which would be a good category which could potentially have a lot if people interested in that stuff. (though I'm sure they'd get some political stuff in there as well).

Currently the "Science" stuff would go... where? News and Politics? Or living? Seems like bad places for true science stuff.

I could argue for or against an adult area (if you make there an adult area, non-adults will be trying extra hard to get it). Weird/Strange would be another possible one (again get over flow for political haters attacking each other).

    SEX AND GENITALS WITHOUT PORN
Is the biggest tabu on our minds and is holding us back in our progress as a species.

Nope, they have that in school and it does not work.
I am talking about real life sexual questions, like the kid (16 years old) asking things about lust, what to do with a girfriend that does not give him an erection; why a girl gets vaginal wetness when she is aroused; why sexual repression conduces to sexual perversion (priests in church); why lots of guys have to take a time out after the first eyaculation; why some beautiful females have a functional penis....It is an endless topic and a potential gold mine for -SH.
No expert opinions or moderators, just humans asking humans. SH can block whatever seems raw or porn.
Underage kids will get in but they are the ones that need the material the most; anyone older than 18 is already irretrivably lost to the narrowmindedness prevailing in our society today.

I'm trying to think back to when I was that age, but it was far too long ago to remember how I found out whatever I knew about sex and reproduction and the general workings of the human body. I'm sure I was too embarrassed to ask my mom, and my friends were equally ignorant. Maybe I just read about it in books. Kids today are more open in asking questions and by asking them anonymously, the embarrassment issue is moot. My objection to such a topic would be that the kids on their who are really young could become targets of adults preying on them. It would be an open invitation for some creep to take advantage. SH only becomes involved if someone makes a complaint, I suspect. I doubt they will monitor that topic more stringently.

The topic is delicate precisely because we did not have adequate teachings in that regards from our parents (mine did and it was not tabu in our home; we were 5 boys and one girl). Unfortunately religious beliefs landed in Plymouth Rock along with the Pilgrims and the boxiness of mind (sex wise) they brought with them persists to this day. That steeled suppresion of natural functions results is aberrations such as the priests scandals recently brought to light.
Those perverts you mention that prey on kids are the result of that social repression, rape, incest, domestic violence, drinking, drugs, and all those can be traced back to sexual repression.
An outlet is needed; there are cons, but pros are much more beneficial to society.
Sh does not need doing a thing; they have cops sitting 24/7 doing that kind of work.

It wasn't tabu in my home either - if I asked, I got an answer. It was just awkward to ask. Most kids think their parents stop having sex after their last child is born. :) As for repression, I agree with you. It is the underlying reason for many things.

Kids!. What do they know?. When we are done with them, .is when sex really rocks! It gets much more interesting since you are not doing it for biological reproduccion or just lust.
My father used to hang a tie in the bedroom door to let us know; we could not care less about their activities.
My wife and I used to tell the kids we were going for a couple of hours "in house honetmoon". Their answer?: have fun!. It was an open topic.

I don't know, isn't there a lot of that all over the internet already? We can get a bit racy here as it is, but I think it's more for communicating. I don't think it's necessary, if a person wants to _____, a person can go to another site, I feel.

Everything in the internet related to sexual topics is highly biased and charged by whomever puts it there; therefore you will have to visit lots of oppossing places to get a "fair" view on the subject; this presumes that the the reader has discernment.
Any unfiltered place is going to be biased, selling their point of view. So, I disagree with your assesment.
An adult, sex topic area in SH will be biased, but the degree of bias will only be supported by the person posting, not by any organization.
By the fluid nature of SH you will have an opposite point of vierw right next to the other.
Is much better and less biased that way.
