IDOL WATCH: Is America Ready for a Gay "American Idol"?

i will agree that maybe they could have picked someone who has more experience with music.. but i think shes doing a good job!! and who gives a rats ass if she is gay or not!! that shouldnt have anything to do with if you watch the show or not its a singing competition and its not about the judges as long as they are all honest and actually gives good advice then i really dont care who is a judge!! people who are gay still are people just like you and me who are arent gay...and you people saying that america isnt ready for a gay american idol well your just naive cause if we are ready for a black president then why does it matter if there is a gay judge on american idol!!

There should have been another choice here besides Yes and No.
No one's sexuality should ever have a bearing on anything.
When people say they came "out of the closet," they should only be referring to taking clothes out and wearing them.
Sexual orientation or preference has no bearing on talent.
It also has no bearing on the judges either. Ellen is a woman, and very fair in
her judging. I doubt any hetrosexual is going to be misjudged by her.

I will never watch Idol again as long as she is one of the judges. What an example to set for our kids!?!?! Says her lifestyle is normal/mainstream and OK. It is NOT!

I do not want to see her she has no idea about music and i just thought they would have gave the position to someone more experienced in music not just a loud mouth.

If Howard and Ellen take over the judging this show will be history.

I really don't like Ellen Degeneres, but I dislike Howard even more. He is an just a rude fool.

I must confess I am not a fan of Ellen DeGeneres. However, last night she got some big laughs from me. She is hilarious. We could all use more laughter. I vote yes for Ellen!

Obviously the majority of the people who answered your survey were gay. But there are a lot more people in the world who do not agree. A persons sexual preference should not be exploited to the point that they get promoted to decision making one way or the other. I have chosen not to watch American Idol for that reason any longer. I have always loved the program, but the choices of Ellen and Howard show just how low that show will stoop for notoriety. The fact that she is a comedian, and he is just ..... whatever, instead of someone with the talent to actually judge musicians indicates there is no future for the show.

You should not be loved for your sexuality, but who you are.
People's talent should not be judged on sexual orientation.
