IDOL WATCH: Did Big Mike Deserve the Judges' Save?

He sings the SAME way and the judges NEVER get on to him for that. PLUS i'm tired of him flexing his flab... he is not "buildt" he is big... there IS a difference. THEY SHOULD HAVE LET HIM GO.

Big Mike should win if Crystal is kicked off. But to say that Lee is better. YOU MUST BE SMOKIN DOPE!!!!

I think that Big Mike is way over rated and I also think that Lee is way more talented than Big Mike!!!!!!!!!

If the judges are going to overrule the audience’s votes, they should have the same rules as “So You Think You Can Dance: where the public votes for the bottom three and the judges decide who goes home. That would minimize the Vote for the Worst impact and the people who vote for their favorites based on other than their singing ability. If this rule was invoked Sanjia wouldn’t have been around as long as he was and maybe Taylor Hicks wouldn’t have won.

Not saying he'll win the whole thing, but talent wise he's definitely among the top 4 this year imo. Definitely deserved the save as long as Tim and Andrew are still on the show.

absolutely not. He's way too into himself. When he sings songs, you can see that he's more into hearing his own voice than he is the song. He's more concerned with his vocal acrobats than whether the meaning of the song relates to his riffs and over the top gestures. They should've saved the save for others like Crystal, Casey, Lee or even Siobhan.

Crystal stood out that night and so did Casey. Why? Because they sang the meaning of the song rather than being so concerned with showing off his voice. When doing that, the vocals mean so much more. I'm not saying to "tone it down", I'm saying that you emphasize the meaning of the song when and where appropriate. He sang this song as if here were singing Dreamgirls, "And I am Loving You". They lyrics to Eleanor Rigby didn't match his vocal acrobats and flailing arms. He's got a GREAT voice, don't get me wrong....but In the words of Simon Cowell....."Didn't work.....sorry"

Yes he did....he is an amazing singer with so much talent. What is going on with Tim still hanging on? Big mikes voice blows his outta the water. :-0

The judges like Mike so I'm not surprised they saved him. I have a feeling that they know ahead of time which ones they will save and even though they tell the audience to vote based on the most recent performance I think the judges do take past performances and overall talent into consideration.

I too am afraid that Crystal Bowersox could end up voted off based on past history of the show (remember Tamara Grey and Chris Daughtry) I hope not. I think Tim and Andrew both need to be gone. They aren't either one as terrible as Sanjaya was and in certain venues I would enjoy listening to them perform but they are not up to the caleber that should be required to be this far up in the Idol rankings.

Yes, Mike deserved it. Thank you to the judges!!!! Mike, Lee and Crystal are the top 3. In addition to a great voice, Mike has a great spirit and recognizes his family blessings.

Let's all face it, he's not going to win. This year, it's pretty easy to tell who's actually got a shot at winning this year, and though I love Mike, he's not one of them.

no they got crystal out int the headship look how they rearranged the show for her when she was sick.But even if Mike does not win like many others that lost but became famous he will too.

I don't like the save rule any way.. It totally discredits the audience's opinion..

Big Mike has a great voice, but he is the same ol thing everytime. He's just another R&B; Singer. Nothing Special. He is extremely cocky though. Maybe and hopefully that moment will have knocked him down a few knotches. It's just annoying. It was shocking last nite to see he was the one with lowest votes, but I was so excited!!

I think the save should have been "saved" for someone better! He's good, but not that good.

He is SO much better than Tim and Aaron. I think he also deserved to stay in more than Katie and Andrew considering their performances. That's more than half the competition he beat, so hell to the yes.

Mike is great; but is isn't going to win. I would have saved the save for either Crystal or Siobhan. The judges may regret using it so earlier.

MIke is one of the best singers in the competition ths year. He has great stage presence and really knows what he is doing. Tim, Aaron and Katie should certainly go before he does!

Hell no. Next week is going to be a disaster. Two people will have to leave. He is a good singer but he is too damn arrogant, he thinks he is the star of the show and he is cheesy as hell. Plus his cover of "Eleanor Rigby" was awful. He is not going to win anyways.

Mike definantly deserved the save as he has been a consistinatly strong singer and performer. I was actually shocked that he had the fewest votes. Did he deserve to be in the bottom three based on his perfomance Tuesday, yes, but I do not feel that he deserved to go home!

He definitely deserved it. He had been a consistent front-runner in my opinion until his odd version of "Eleanor Rigby," which, although I love him, I hated.

I like Mike but agree with Cyndi that the best ones are Siobhan, Casey, Lee & Crystal. I hope the judges do not regret using their save too early!

Mike is arrogant, thinks he is a star and shows no signs of humility...Siobhan has a voice that is trully beautiful

Mike deserves to be there longer than Siobhan. Come on she needs to go just as much as Katie. She is a female version of Adma Lambert. So old bag but in a dress. Go Mike, I loved Elenor Rigby!
