he was already been picked as probably being the better QB before he even came out of college by many scouts and he is living up to that billing already with 2 Super Bowl wins. To me you can throw out ALL of the stats out but one when it comes down to it.
40, I think Archie and Peyton are still in the conversation. Peyton carried his team which has rarely had a good defense outside of their DE's. Eli has had a good D to back him up for his career. Archie created these two guys, shouldn't he be the greatest of all time just for conceiving and mentoring them?
ZERO% Chance. Peyton Manning may be the best QB to ever play in the NFL. He's the standard all other QBs are compared to now. Eli Manning is a good QB, but he's not in the same league with his brother.
Based on that logic you'd put him ahead of Dan Marino. If you take away David Tyre's catch in his first Super Bowl and Manningham's in the last Super Bowl he probably wouldn't have any rings. He's a good QB, but he's not in the same league with Peyton, Brees and Brady.
You are correct, Brady has 3 rings. And I would put him ahead of Marino. 8-10 record in the playoffs. To me it wouldn't matter if he owned EVERY passing record in the book because football is about winning football games and winning in the playoffs, and he fumbled pretty bad in that category. To me, you could almost go right down this list and say that these QB's are in order of how they good they were in their careers.
50%. I don't believe Eli has a much talent as his older brother even though he has 2 rings over Peyton's one. It takes a lot more than just the quarterback to win a Super Bowl.
I hear ya, but having more talent doesn't always equate to being a better QB. BTW, a lot of NFL scouts were saying that the best Manning was still in college when Peyton was already in the NFL.
They finished the season beating the Jets,Cowboys, Falcons, Packers, 49ers and then the Patriots. They were by far the best team in football last year and their QB was the better Manning.
Jets over rated, Cowboys and Falcons suck. They ran the table with great defense. He's good but he still carries Peyton's gym bag. My Pats just can't beat 9-7 teams.

Archie... good but no cigar.
Peyton... great QB , just could not get his team to win the biggest prize ( once is not enuff) , Eli got 2 already , and probably 10 more seasons to add to the list..

It is unfortunate that so much credit comes from winning a Super Bowl. Winning a super bowl depends on the other 44 players on the team, coaching, and a certain amount of luck. In my book, Archie was the best, Peyton second, and Eli a distant 3rd. But he could catch up.
Obviously. That is why I would rate Archie because the highest despite his losing record he arguably had the best talent of the 3. Followed by Peyton, for one reason because we all saw what happened when 1 (Peyton) of the 44 people changed last season. And the NY Giants have won more Super bowls in the past 25 years than anyone. They are a good organization, with or without Eli.
Unless Payton can come back and win at least one more Super Bowl then I think you have to give it to Eli. It's kind of unfortunate but the rings do matter.
Trent Dilfer has a Super Bowl ring and nobody tries to say he's an elite QB. Statistically Eli Manning isn't even the best QB in the NFC East. Amani Toomer just came out and said he'd take Tony Romo over Eli Manning and he won a Super Bowl with him. I agree that great QBs should make their team better, but rings aren't the only criteria to judge by. If they were Dan Marino wouldn't be considered one of the all-time greats.
I know that but Tony is no Dan Marino either. Personally, I think that a lot of the quality coaches refuse to work there because the don't want to put up with Jerry.
I don't know how much longer the fans are going to put up with it. Maybe, if he starts getting hit in the pocketbook he will back off and let the coaches coach.

Eli....8-3 total playoff record
Eli has 5 years in the playoffs

same thing.. need the whole team, not just 44 , coaches, trainers, etc.. everyone ....
