That would have been horrible cause 99% of the time they would hire some bad acting teens to play the leads, it would be on the CW or TeenNick, or MTV and it would have been censored a lot more then it already was!

I'm sure with the success of the film there will be TV shows just like it (i.e when Twilight came out it sparked True Blood, Teen Wolf, and The Vampire Diaries)

I'm happy with the movie and I can't wait for the second. This was the right choice cause if it wasn't a movie would have gotten such a great cast leads like Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson! Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson GIF Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson GIF

There wouldnt have been enough content to make a tv series and it would get to frustrating waiting for the next episode when the hunger games part starts.

Personally, all my friends love the Hunger Games, but I dont. To me it just seems stupid. The books or the movie both don't interest me. Srry!

im honestly not 100% sure what that means, but if your saying that all movies that are made out of a book is good: read the ink heart triologi then watch the movie. it's the worst movie i ever seen!!!

I actually like the idea of that, maybe then it would be actually accurate and they wouldn't have had to rush the movie like they did.

Not enough content to make it a T.V. show. They make a lot more money with a movie, and more people would be interested in that.

well that is true, but then again; there's 3 books, and they wouldn't have to rush so much.

to much detail was left out in the movie. The essentials points were there, but I think the story as a whole needed more fleshing out.

It would have been cancelled by the fifth episode, due to the current trend of limiting teen-oriented series to poor scripts, slaughtered plots, and ridiculously good-looking actors who are acting-impaired. If Disney handled it, they would all be blonds.

Ew and have some inexperienced teenager play Katniss, Peeta, and Gale???

The movie was awesome! I was kind of annoyed they cut out Madge but I guess they sort of made up for it with the behind the scenes of the whole games, but TV series tend to fluff things up so much the original book gets lost.

Take Gossip Girl for example, it used to be all about Blair growing up, Jenny gets sent away to another posh school, Eric doesn't exist at all, Dan was gay, Nate was ALWAYS a bad boy, and Serena...I guess she was the same. Now the CW show changed so much from the begining you can't even compare the two anymore.

I mean if HBO took the book and did something good with it like the other shows they have based on books...Then I'd think about it.

Now to wait for catching fire...

TV series screw up EVERY book they've been based on. Vampire Diaries is just one of the latest screw-ups in a long, long list of novels-gone-horribly-wrong.

Mini-series is different - when there's a decided end, they tend not to screw them up any more than movies do. But TV shows? Everything gets changed, twisted, etc...

But only if was on HBO, Starz, or another cable channel. It would then be allowed to progress naturally, like True Blood, Spatacus, Camelot, or Game of Thrones.

Too bad it didn't make it.

I can't only imagin them putting it on networks like TeenNick, MTV, or The CW.... as much as I LOVE the books I know the series would suck on those channels! It'd just turn into a teen fluff show...

I don't think the impact of the movie plays well on a weekly series. Most series get tedious and boring within a short period of time. A lot would depend on time slot and day of the week so not a great idea.

If it was a well-adapted mini-series complete with a script that's extremely faithful to the books, superb actors, and a genius director, I believe it might've been better.

Take BBC's Pride and Prejudice (1995) adaptation! If The Hunger Games could've pulled off an adaptation to that scale, I would've been a very, very happy and satisfied fan. :)

Oh, Colin and Jennifer. An acting match made in heaven!

Yeah that's what my sister said. She LOVES Pride and Prejudice and The Hunger Games books and said if they're going to do a book adaptation do it like they did with 1995 version of PAP (not the crap version with Kira Knightly)! But it's very rare that a movie comes that exact to the book...

I liked what they did with the movie, I didn't mind the changes I actually liked them the second time around.

Your sister has great taste ;)) hehe. It's rare, indeed! But when they get it right, oooh, it's magic.

Oh, me, too! I watched it just yesterday and I loved it! What had happened was that my own sister was making such a big deal out of the changes prior to watching the film that I was pleasantly surprised when they kept true to the book xD. Such a great movie; Jennifer Lawrence really blew me away with her portrayal as Katniss. O_O

I think they could've given Peeta more of a chance to shine, though, methinks.

even though there would be able to drag it out more they would add more things that have nothing to do with the book and drag it out too long.

Tv would have butchered it and drawn it out just to make ratings. Tv always manages to ruin a good concept. The movie was epic. I mean seriously. Shaky camera drama aside, Wow, just Wow. This coming from a girl who has read the books. I have never leaned over to my friend in the middle of a movie and whispered "This is so cool" before today.

I actually don't think it would have been better, but I don't think it would have been worse, either. Seeing high-production TV shows like The Walking Dead and Falling Skies have made me realize how shallow movies can seem in comparison - when there are episodes and seasons that can be spent developing just one character, emotions can run deeper than they would in a 2-hour production.

If they got the same kind of money that is. With a series you can stay with the book better because you have the time to put in more scenes that you would otherwise have to cut.
