Not yet, I feel it wouldn't be right to watch the movie before I read the books. And I won't read the books for a while because my yet-to-read list is enormous as it is.

Saw it, and wow... It surprised me. It was really good. Jennifer Lawrence was perfect as Katniss. I can't wait for "Catching Fire" to come out. There have been rumors that it will be released on November 22, 2013..... Remember, "The world will be watching.." copyright of Suzanne Collins.

Did you hear what the name of the poison berries was? They looked a lot like poke berries which grow here in Florida. Poke berries are quite poisonis.
You should never eat anything in the woods you don't know or that you haven't seen an animal eat.
My hearing isn't that good anymore.

The girl character who died from the berries was smart up to that point. She had avoided all contact.
Once in the Army we trained with the British. They told us when they went on patrol they didn't carry rifles like the American army does. They were basically unarmed as the main idea of a patrol was to gather information and not engage in combat.
British army doctrine is that if their soldiers are armed on patrol they are too likely to be tempted to engage an enemy they bump into rather than run and evade in the darkness.
This is very close to the initial advice the mentor gave to Katness and Peeta.

Another thing you can eat is cat tails. The part near the top that turns fuzzy and brown can be boiled and eaten when it's still green. Cat tails grow in almost all states.

I hate going to the movies and if i do go its only when people calmd down about the movie and not alot of people go. or just buy the movie whenever it comes out.

Saw it today! Wouldn't mind seeing it again in theaters, but will probably just eagerly wait till it's out on video. I'm already sick that the next one won't be released until November 2013 :(

Well 3/4 of my daughters (14 year old) school saw it. Out of her school, 1 fell asleep in the theatre.. 3/4 of them said it was boring. 90% of them said they left out the best part of the book. 1/4 of them thought it was incredible. (This was the midnight showing)

Her school probably has 700-1000 students in it.

Well that doesn't exactly change my opinion of how wonderful I think the movie was, and I think that many of the reviews I have seen seem to disagree with that one school. Looking around online, reviews are positive. 87% on rotten tomatoes, positive reviews by Roger Ebert, Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, etc. And general online users seem to think positively of the movie.

Yes, the book is better. Books are ALWAYS going to be better. But you can not realistically put everything from a book into a movie or else you'll be there forever. I think they did hit all the most important parts of the book, and gave us something extra (the addition of other character viewpoints) which just added to the whole experience.

But, that's just my opinion, just like your daughter and her school are entitled to their opinions.

Sorry I don't trust movie reviews. Plenty off 100% movies were pure garbage.

I watched the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo over the weekend. I almost fell asleep 3 times... It was horrid.

You are right though...Differing opinions. Just to compare it to HP.. The same didn't happen with HP.

Already have. And its AMAZING. I can count the number of movies I've cried in on one hand, and still have fingers left over. The Hunger Games is one of them.

I loved it. Of course, everyone in the cinema all squealing whenever Peeta or Gale came on was a bit annoying. See, I'm sensible - I squeal on the INSIDE! :P

The book is a blatant rip off of Battle Royale-still can't figure out how they got away with it.Perhaps Battle Royale being written in Japan by a Japanese author.IDK.
